Face Mask Wearing

Are you happy to wear a face mask to help prevent the spread of Covid-19?

  • I will happily wear one to keep your Granny alive

  • Yes, and also people treat me normally when they can't see my hideously deformed face

  • Not fussed either way, it's the law

  • "You can't eat ice cream when you're muzzled!"

  • Definitely not, I want to kill my Gran through ignorance

  • QGammon nonsence about Paedos, 5G Masts, Fake Pandemics and my Freeeeeeeedom!!!!!!!

Personally think it's daft, the virus will spread by touch alone so what's the point?
I'll wear one to make other people around me feel better like, but truthfully I think it's ridiculous. Michael Osterholm, probably the world's leading expert on Covid-like viruses, has said they do next to nothing in terms protecting you from infection. It's just big companies looking to sell them in mass to make a few quid whilst people are scared.
Again.. it is to stop people coughing out the virus everywhere, not inhaling it.
Coughed out virus gets picked up on contact by other people who then transfer it to their eyes/nose/mouth which infects them.

Wearing a mask reduces the amount of virus that people can come into contact with, therefore its a good idea

I'll wear one to make other people around me feel better like, but truthfully I think people are just misinformed. Michael Osterholm, probably the world's leading expert on Covid-like viruses, has said they do next to nothing in terms protecting you from infection. The best way to slow the spread is to simply look after yourself, make sure your immune system is a strong as can be so the virus has no chance against you. That way the bacteria can't survive to infect others.

Anyone who refuses to wear one can get in the bin, but people who do shouldn't think it's some noble act they're doing.

Protecting you, its more about protecting others.

See im bulletproof so i dont worry but i want to protect others.

Also the touch thing, that is getting forgot about, far too many people not washing there hands when they go in shops...etc no one is talking about this now

Virus and bacteria are two separate things. A few years ago I had viral meningitis,I'm thankful it wasn't bacterial.

His views have been a bit mischaracterized.

I had the worst flu ive ever had just before christmass, went to a doctor and he said there was nothing they could give me i would just have to ride it out, but im not sure if it was viral or bacterial, cant remember, but i have wonder if it was this covid19 as i have had flu before but nothing like this!

All flu is viral. And your doc is right- nothing can be given other than things that make the symptoms more sufferable.

The alternative is the "experts" who watch youtube and nutjobs , filmed in their mums basement at 4 in the morning, telling you it's all a scam.I know who I would rather listen to......
No it really isn't. It's about listening to arguments from both sides. Unfortunately the TV won't always air
Hope all went well with your surgery and you are recovering well. And I do truly mean this, however...

The new data produced by infectious disease physicians, epidemiologists and other experts in the field have shown that masks do decrease spread. They are certainly less effective at protecting the wearer than N95 mask, but it is a bit like exposure to radiation. No exposure would be the best outcome, but limiting it as much as possible is the next best thing.
Thanks for the well wishes, I’m not sure why you thought I wouldn’t believe you meant it, unless you truly do wish harm on people that have a different opinion to yourself. ;)

Are you still here trying to kill my Granny??

Had not seen that, now I have I've changed my mind. As I said I am and encourage others to wear masks because it eases the anxiety of others, now though I do agree there is a benefit in terms of slowing the spread.

Kids need to start wearing them too, I've yet to see even one teenagers on public transport to and from school wearing them. It's not fair.

Wear masks you monsters!

Its not like you're being asked to go naked into a snow storm or suffer 6+ years of rationing or sleep in an unheated air-raid shelter, or be bombed.

Sake.
This is the thing that does my head in. Even if you’re extremely convinced the masks are useless and do nothing at all to stop the spread, does it really affect you that much to wear a bit of cloth over your face for half an hour whilst walking round a supermarket?

People acting like they’re Rosa Parks when they refuse to wear one.

Wearing a mask is really interfering with my ability to belt out Spirit Of The Blues at top note so I've ditched them.

Soz abaaar me
