Then its a disgrace and the culprit shouldn't be back at Goodison

Thats why we need evidence to be produced. I'm no legal expert but I would guess a headlock would be an assault?

Yep. 12 days is a long time for the police to investigate this, let’s hope they’ve found the culprit. We should get a crime number available any day now too.

You would be right.

Depending on the behaviour leading up to the headlock, screaming, making threats etc, it could also be an affray.

What if it’s true though?

If it’s true then they should - provide evidence from CCTV and eye witnesses, contact Merseyside police, report an assault, find the person responsible, arrest them etc, you know normal stuff that keeps society civil.. Did I really have to say that mate?

I’m just amazed that they’re either lying, have over hyped something smaller happening, or didn’t do the right thing and report it, then bring it up a week later, as “club sources” report with no one’s name on it. Bizarre.

All of this happened and nobody saw/photographed/recorded it in any way shape or form.
Everyone has a camera phone. There's not a chance it happened in this day and age without evidence to corroborate it.

It's bullshit.
The absolute worst kind.

Never reported to Merseyside police.

It is impossible to be true. It would have been plastered all over the internet an hour after it happened with all of the cttv and mobile phones. You only have to fart now and its on twitter or you tube. It was a disgraceful act of war against their own supporters.

Remember when Brands was confronted in the stadium, it was all over the internet almost immediately and that was just a fan screaming at him.

If it happened in the ground there should be evidence, you would think the first place you’d put cctv is the directors box, isn’t it alleged to have happened there or was it the car park.…

Trying to think why the club wouldn’t report it, maybe PR at having a go at the fans, creating unrest and division - maybe not wanting to publicise disharmony at the club. Maybe the CEO didn’t want to press charges against the alleged perpetrator, she has that right.

On the opposite side, not reporting is colluding with that alleged behaviour as ok and acceptable.

True or not, no win for the club whatever action they take.

I know people who’ve been ejected and nicked for all manner of things at football , there have been blues charged over gestures and abusive language. The idea that a board member can be assaulted and the matter be unreported for nearly a fortnight and the alleged perpetrator sneak off facing zero repercussions from the police or the club and presumably come back to their seat for yesterday’s game is not just ridiculous it’s contemptible.

What's all this?

I've stayed away from everything since full time pretty much.
The board released a statement yesterday saying that there was a credible threat to their safety. A source, presumably the club, then confirmed to the media that the CEO, Denise, had been physically assaulted and placed in a headlock during the game against Brighton. The nation was understandably outraged and horrified, but no photo of the incident has yet been forthcoming. It seems that literally no one was able to capture a photo of it, out of all the paparazzi and the 40,000 smart phone users inside Goodison that day. Very strange.

Having said all this, after the behaviour of some fans yesterday I can understand why people are blindly believing the allegation re: Denise. They really played into the media’s hands with their attack on young Gordon and his car.

How much does it turn your stomach when you really think about it. They’ve used Denise as well because she’s a woman and it’s therefore worse. If it was Sharp or Thelwell it’d be a bit slapstick would probably get laughed at. Utterly horrible, contemptible people they are.
