Is it just me or does the Dortmund Stadium look like "Destination Krikby" with the corners filled in?

I loved the idea of the Kings Dock stadium at the time, because it had the retractable roof and the retractable pitch, so I could see it making money, outside of match days and it had a bit of style to it.

Isn't that Juve stadium only 35,000 ?

Edit: 41,000. Needs to be a bit bigger than that to make it worth building.

We need to be looking at 50k at least to make it worthwhile.

What needs to happen is a freeze on ticket prices too. If prices go up like Arsenal, attendances won't increase and we'll be no better off anyway.

What's wrong with the bowl type stadiums? Is Wembley classed as a bowl? I guess it's a fashion thing but the bowls always look better to me. Like everyone is in it together.

Ibrox or villa park is the ideal stadium imo.

If we could just get rid of the poles, add another tier on the bullens and park end we would have a class stadium. We would have retained the character of all 4 stands while increasing the capacity to around 50k. Having spoken to a top architect on football stadia design anything over 50/60k isn't worth building, the seats cost far too much to build for their return in £.

Need more executive boxes mate, a LOT more.

It would be relatively cheap to redesign the Main Stand roofing to permit getting rid of the 3 pillars holding it up. That would massively improve the looks of that stand and free up many hundreds of currently obstructed views. A straightforward extension of the Park End including private boxes would also be reasonably affordable. I suspect though that doing anything with the Bullens would be difficult and expensive. But in any event I'd agree with leaving the Bullens and Gwladys St unchanged, to retain the tradition and history of the ground.

Total cost? £25m? New capacity 45,000? Affordable? Well if Rotherham (I think it was) this season could afford to build themselves a completely new stadium for £20m then surely the answer must be yes.

What gets me is that the houses around Goodison will be amongst the cheapest in the country. Surely we could buy enough on one side of hte ground for the cost of a no mark player.

People will argue it may take years, well this moving ground business has lasted 15 years so far.
