Is it just me or does the Dortmund Stadium look like "Destination Krikby" with the corners filled in?

I loved the idea of the Kings Dock stadium at the time, because it had the retractable roof and the retractable pitch, so I could see it making money, outside of match days and it had a bit of style to it.

Should replace the lower bullens and put boxes there and then add another tier to the park end to make up for the seats you'd lose
yea. Something like that would be great. Boxes all along the lower bullens. Loose obstructed view seats and support upper bullens. Stick a cantilever roof over that and the Gwladys st. Rebuild the Park end with a museum, bars, shops (the annex thing) and a two tier stand with more boxes. You could even build those towers in the Sampadoria ground either side of the new park end (press facilities etc.). There you have it, a 40,000 seater with plenty of corporate boxes and facilities, on the same footprint and at a fraction of the cost of a new stadium. If we fill that regularly and fill the boxes, then look at re-doing the main stand or possibly moving.

A new ground within 5-10 years?

Last I heard we were 50 mil in debt.

The reds can´t find the money to build a new ground and they have a whole lot more of it than we do. The same goes for Spurs.

The days of building extravagant new stadiums are, for the time being over. If we do end up moving it will not be to something as bold as the Kings Dock project and subsequent stadium design, no in fact I believe it will be quite the opposite.

It will most likely be a stadium in Speke near the airport, with a cheap design and tacky features and complete with identikit shopping mall and large featureless carpark

If you're talking about the exterior of the stadium then it should be a plain design.

The reason is that if we were to ever expand any new stadium then the exterior would change anyway.

A lot of fancy exterior can be added later.

Sampdoria's ground is small, intimate and creates a vivid colourful atmosphere plus its layout inside lends a great deal of originality to it. You see it and know who' playing. That should be Everton's goal. We need to have a large home end to kick to, one very much along the lines of Dortmunds home end with no second tier on it but rather one massive bank of supporters

I agree completely.

My post was about the exterior rather than the interior though.

People put pictures up of stadium where the exterior looks like a spaceship, all that says to me is that you can't expand the stadium.

a lot seem (via the route of Dortmund) to hanker after being some sort of kopite ?

Well if you have two tiers are you a Road Ender? Or a Kemlyn Rd Ender? No. Liverpool did not invent large single tiers.

Have a large single tier of 50-60 rows, then when we expand put a second tier on. That's how how Everton done done Goodison, we'll just be doing it on a larger scale.
