you would wonder why he stays invested in Arsenal if indeed that is his position. Not that I would think if he were to sell that he'd buy into Everton, would seem more likely he'd buy his own club elsewhere, surely

What would it really change? It's not as though we're short of money? We could buy anyone we want if it was just the transfer fee. The issue is increasing our revenue so we can lift the ceiling on our players wages. The only way to do this is via a new stadium, regular CL, increasing sponsorship deals. Unless Usmanov brings with him a shirt sponsorship deal worth tens of millions then his personal wealth in the transfer market will be useless. Unless Usmamov can suddenly make CL players want to play for a club in 11th place in the league or make the various governing bodies relax their regulations around financial fair play then his potential arrival would have no impact over what Moshiri is already doing for us.

I'm sure his investment will help in some way, long term..

Usmanov is seeing his mate actually getting to play with the trainset he's invested in.

Meanwhile he sits in the Directors box at the Emirates as an inert entity with no say whatsoever.

It'd be no surprise if that is making him more likely to sell up and move on.

I'm sure he'd love to. The issue which @The Esk was talking about is how the hell does he get rid of those shares? He's basically locked into them, no one wants to buy a 30% stake in something and get no seat on the board.

Unless he finds a mate of Kroenke who is happy to sit and collect their cheque with no input or something. Seems unlikely though.

Potentially if player prices rose to a point where Moshiri's wealth was stretched in comparison to owners like Abramovich and Sheik Mansour then having a richer invested also on board would help us compete for players.

In this window alone though we've had the money to out bid Chelsea for Koulibaly. The problem comes in that we've struggled to attract him without CL and we've had to sell Stones to raise the curling on how much we can pay in wages.

You are right though, never hurts to have lots of rich guys around though.

I wake up in cold sweats dreaming of Usmanov taking over the RS...

The football world dodged a bullet when Parry and Moores tried to squeeze an extra quid out of Sheikh Mohammed.

I shudder to think where they would be today if DIC had bought them instead of the Texans

Its previously been said on here that he won't sell up because he's happy at Arsenal and he wants to pass it on to his family, I'm pretty sure there are quotes too.

Wouldn't that discount the argument that is such a bad investment that not a single fund in the world would buy into that? it can't be both can it.
