I delivered a parcel to Eddie Large today, (massive City fan), with my EFC bobble hat on.
He used a similar phrase!
...didn't know you covered Manchester, Matey.

What point is Conn making there? The "curious" case of Usmanov's connection...then he goes on to destroy his own argument about a case to answer to.
By the way, where was this Man City supporter putting a spanner in the works of Abu Dhabi and their dealings? Nowhere. He was given the seal of approval by the Maktoums to write up their official takeover story into a book...he called them 'stewards' throughout.
So much for the crusading journalist.
I have no objection to any reporter digging for dirt on rubbish like Usmanov and his business tentacles, but that reporter has to have more credibility than this feller David Conn.
He's a journalist who's earned his reputation from looking at the murky underbelly of the commercialisation running rampant in the game. That credibility went west when he accepted the institutional embrace of the megabucks owners of Man City.
Never wanted to do a story on Philip Green's involvement at Everton, despite years of Evertonians asking him to do so.
I read today's story. Not much to it and nothing in it that hasn't already been reported. The use of the word 'curious' smacks of a sneering attitude toward Everton, as if 'how dare they advance themselves with actual investment'. Bizarrely lumping us in with Stoke City is quite frankly insulting.
Just counting down the days until he turfs out Bill.
That just means none of them have it.More credibility than Conn!?!?
Honestly don't think there is a single football journalist who has.
To be fair mate I think you would read roald dhal and find fault in itHe's a journalist who's earned his reputation from looking at the murky underbelly of the commercialisation running rampant in the game. I read his stuff now and snort in derision knowing how he's doffed his cap to that desert plutocracy.
No he didn't earn his reputation that way but carry on on your tangent.
To be fair mate I think you would read roald dhal and find fault in it
If he spelt his on name like that I defo would.

He can be a top journalist and a good all round egg about Hillsborough and still be a massive contradiction in his treatment of Everton and City.David Conn is a top journalist.

Also any journalist who gets a standing ovation from the Hillsborough families is probably one who's beyond reproach
