The full quote:

“When Man City or Chelsea made the step up, they were less constrained by Financial Fair Play rules than we are today. This, along with the overall player wage and transfer inflation, means that the gap is even harder to bridge now, hence we have to be smarter going about it, from our academy operations to player recruitment and building the right infrastructure at the club.”

We can't go on splurges like Man City and Chelsea did because of FFP.

Building the right infrastructure at the club (stadium), will help us bridge the gap.

It is a throwaway comment that you have spun to create more negativity around the club.
The feller is out there in the press for a reason: dampen down expectations on summer spending.

Well spend big if Lukaku is sold. If not we'll spend modestly and rely on youngsters coming through...and that will on,y change after a new money spinning facility is built. THAT is what he's saying.

you are indeed an attention seeking bulb, the mods on here love you though, you keep the clickbait rolling, almost like your mate the Esk, so far apart yet so much in common, one ultra positive, the other ultra negative, the one common denominator you share is that everything you post is speculative tosh. do you not get a chill? sitting in yer bills all day feeling popular because this is the only place people acknowledge your existence, what a sad existence that is DK
Good post mate.

"FFP means we can't spend our money like Chelsea and City did."

Apparently translates into:

"We have no money. We're selling all our players."

Fancy getting your rocks off by deliberately misleading and winding up fellow Everton fans. A weird existence.
In fairness to @davek, his first Summer hardly disproved it.
This Summer will be his make or break I feel. If he/they flop again with transfers if I was Koeman I'd walk. He will have been sold a lemon.

Koeman said not two days ago we have money to spend in the summer, and specifically said we didn't need to sell to buy.

I'd say he would know more than two people looking to make a show of themselves on the internet.

what on God's green earth has the colour of Elstone's Chrimbo tree decorations got to do with the price of fish ?
These threads are all over the shop with red herring distractions.

lol The image of @davek, feverishly banging away at his keyboard, attired only in sweaty y-fronts is one that really made me laugh.

By the by; The rhyming slang 'bills' is a great one. That Sex Pistols interview with Bill Grundy was a classic. But it seems that it is mostly a scouse May Pang...under-utilised imo.

We've been hearing for 12 months how nothing will be the same and we're loaded etc.

I've not seen one signing yet that backs up this new found status as one of the big boys.

There hasn't been a transfer window open for 12 months though.

The signings we've made have improved us.

Schneiderlin was the signing of the Jan window and Gueye has been the signing of the season.

To be fair though mate most of that is fans on the internet getting carried away. The only things I've heard from the club are along the lines that it is going to take some time, which it is. Moshiri can't be blamed because some people thought it was going to change overnight
