Koeman was 100% Moshiri pick. wanted him at Arsenal if he ever got control with Usmanov

remember when Allardyce was unveiled at goodison, no sign of the media darling Bill kenwright, who would have been all over it, if he had wanted big sam. kenwright wanted Moyes.

Allardyce was Moshiri's pick. he is the man at the healm

@davek
This only goes to show the paucity of sensible decision making at board level....Kenwright's appointment of Martinez with whom he would have persisted had not Moshiri sacked him; Moshiri's appointment of Koeman...looked decent initially but was shown to be a dreadful decision. Board throw Unsworth to the lions hoping he would get us out of the total mess we were in post Arsenal, and when that did not work the total panic move of making Allardyce manager after initially rejecting him. Plus the spectre of Walsh "identifying" players for us...that worked didn't it? At the moment despite the new ground scenario I have very little confidence in a man who seems not to know a lot about the game of football. Either he is being badly "advised" or making these appointments off his own bat with very little forethought of the possible consequences. I suspect things are going to get worse before they improve. Sorry about the pessimism but I have seen very little over the last 30 years to really make me feel optimistic about winning trophies as we did prior to '89 ('95 being the exception), in nearly 60 years of supporting EFC.

So you are saying Moshiri would not listen to any advice given him or even consult and ask for advice. I don't buy into that one bit. What I do buy into is he is trying to compete in the transfer market albeit not a great success but nevertheless he is trying. He wants to make us a big team again and is allowing managers and DOF money to try and achieve this. That to me wins the case.

ok then he didn't chose Allardyce himself, but he listened to some influential people and chose to employ Allardyce.

what ever way you look at it, Moshiri SANCTIONED the deal, and has come out in the press saying Sam was his man.

see where I'm coming from.

its quite scary if he is actually listening to people who are suggesting Allardyce would suit us.

Vincent tan appointed ole gunner sojskaer and it ineveitably took Cardiff down.

we are only one seriously bad managerial appointment away from similar consequences.

what if Silva comes in , already proven to be a Moshiri pick, as he tried to lure him from Watford quite publicly, and he was an utter disaster like his Hull AND Watford spells.. Moshiri would hang on to him till its too late I'm thinking, in an effort not to make himself look foolish.

worked out well for Mr tan that did don't it.

He has to sanction all things but like I said it is with advice. I am hoping he does what he normally does and outs BFS. Regardless BFS is/was on a short term contract so the belief was to get us out of the rut and move up the table. This we have done but at the cost of anti football which us fans do and cannot accept. Here is hoping the next choice will bring success and see some good football.

the pure fact that Moshiri hasn't followed up on his pursuit of silva when he was sacked by Watford shows us that he is running us on a whim and a prayer.

he should have rubbed his hands together when Silva was sacked and thought what a great opportunity it was to grab his man while he could.

the fact he hasn't even been serioiusly linked to us baffles me, as 3 months ago he was wanted to spend circa 20m to get him.

what changed?

Maybe the board advised him against it or another name popped up as available soon, we just don't know.

We do not know if Moshiri was for Allardyce or was given advice by one of our footballing so called experts.
Moshiri has opened the coffers for the managers and DOF and that is all we can ask of him. Manager decisions probably came under the influence of some of the old brigade who have helped fill our trophy cabinet to the rafters for the last 25 years or so. I can never blame Moshiri and never will as long as he keeps the coffers open. If he chose Koeman and Allardyce by himself then I will proportion some blame on him but we know he acts quickly and gets rid if it is not working out unlike in the past.
He owns all the decisions taken at Everton because he either directly does make the decision or he's hired someone to do do it. Regardless, it's on his watch.

Yep. Whatever you think of him, his motives, or ability, not one business in the world does anything without the majority shareholder being ultimately accountable.

edit. Or majority minority shareholder, or the bloke with nearly most of the shares, you get the point.
