Mindset! And ours is set at minus. We've allowed ourselves to become disillusioned and apathetic and now only expect...and get...mediocre and failure. We've allowed ourselves to be in the shadow of the RS and be subservient. From being the senior club in the city we are nothing no more in their eyes other than the little brother. It all started with Shankly who bigged them up and made them believe the hype and it's gone on ever since. Whereas we just 'believed' once they got the upper hand we never truly felt it and allowed ourselves to forever be talked down, so much so even decades of players have grown to feel the same inferiority - other than for a few halcyon years in the mid 1980's and even then the bar stewards went and spoilt it for us by labelling us and everyone else as no better than them and getting us kicked out of Europe along with themselves.
I know there is no quick and easy answer but I pray we find one...and soon. Maybe a trophy would kick start us and, certainly, a new stadium at BMD to take us away from the perpetual shadow which seems to hang over our side of the park.

My point is mate Moshiri is the 4th biggest benefactor in English football

He's pumping in top 6 level money

He was paying Koeman a bigger salary than PSG were paying Emery

The only thing holding this club back is lack of ambition. Aim low you achieve low its as simple as that in my eyes and our fans allow it to happen.

The only way we’ll be talked about and taken seriously by anyone outside the club is when we’re proving it on the pitch. Until then there’s precious little we can do about it unfortunately, no matter how much us fans gas us up.

The club still needs organisational discipline from top to bottom.

I'm not in favour of wielding the axe as the order of the day but it seems there was no price paid for years of commercial mismanagement and mediocrity. Instead we get old faces re-appointed with trumped up titles but little or no accountability.

At least you can say that our managers pay for failure - but not through their pockets.

I do think Brands will help to curb the excesses and lack of due process with transfers.

We don't have deep pockets so can only rely on making very prudent buying decisions but that will be hampered by a lack of the sort of A-Grade business professionals that populate the boards of our rivals. I wasn't at all impressed by the new management team that DBB announced in the summer as it is all same-old and matey. We won't progress like that. I was disappointed that Moshiri didn't take the available opportunity to bring more of his own in. I can't imagine people used to reporting directly or otherwise to Usmanov could get by with such commercial and business mediocrity - Kitbag, SportPesa etc. It wouldn't be tolerated.

I heard a whisper that we were making the usual dogs diner of the summer transfer window last summer and Brands intervened once he got his feet under the table, benching some of the usual culprits.

Maybe when our spineless fans start believing in this sleeping giant those outside the club will.

Im sick of the lack of ambition of the club, from Kenwright to the fans scared to sing at the ground in fear of looking like kopites.

The fact "Unsy" was given a consideration last season confirmed what small time fools inhabitant this once proud club.

People laugh at the bells over the park but one thing they never do regardless of the stench of delusion is talk themselves down. Our lot absolutely revel in it.

Really don’t get this “blame the fans” approach.

Which Everton fans are happy to win zero trophies, finish outside the top and achieve nothing?

I can’t think of any that I know, nor any on here or any at Goodison. Most are pissed off with years of mediocrity.

They’re ultimately powerless though aren’t they? Change has to come from the top.

If this bloke had any respect for the fanbase he would offer the earth for a top manager next summer. No more garbage mid table managers doing well for 10 games at clubs from the fizzy pop league.

Show some ambition ffs!

Time for this UTTER JOKER to firstly

Put his hands in his pocket and pay for the stadium.

Make a half decent football decision - silva ???

We are worse off than last season and it's been a steady decline under this embarrassment.

If he puts the money down TOMORROW for the stadium to start I'll let him off. He won't though. He's a clueless mingebag.
