With respect mate, how long did it take City to appoint Pep?

We cant just click our fingers and top class managers will come running, I know you live in a world where any manager would join if you offered them enough money, but life isnt like that really.

Liverpool could appoint Klopp cos they were a proven CL team, maybe once we are we can think of offering the Joses and the Diegoes of this world lots of dough. In the meantime we sit back and see what Brands and Silva can do.

I disagree on Liverpool, sure they have the "name" but Klopp took over a side that was around 8th in the table and had players like Ricky Lambert in the starting 11.

Im sure I read that Moshiri is the 4th biggest benefactor in English football - he's putting in top 4/6 money but appointing mid table managers.

It just doesnt make sense for me. I think fans will look back in 5 years time and think "ah for all the money wasted on Koeman, Alladyce, Silva, **insert next flavour of the month**" if only Moshiri had gone balls in for a proven manager whos won regularly I wonder where that money would have gotten us".

I just dont think Simeone fancies coming to a team that hasnt won a pot in 20 odd years and has never qualified for the CL.

You act like Diego was begging for the job, we probably even approached him.

We didnt have a choice of Zidane, Conte, Simeone, Jose and Silva, so yeah, maybe in 5 years we will regret appointing Silva as much as we do Koeman, but maybe we wont.

Very difficult in attracting those managers I agree, however there are still plenty of managers below the elite group like Emery who we never looked at once and instead went for the likes of Koeman on wages higher than some of the best managers in the world which was baffling.

I just dont get why he puts in so much money when the managers he targets automatically puts him at a disadvantage of ever achieving much more than 7th-10th season after season. Why not just spend half of what he does like those clubs outside the top 6 do? Whats the purpose?

I mean alot of people are made up with our current season when we are level on points with clubs like Watford and Bournemouth who have significantly less spending power / resources at their disposal - surely thats something to not be happy with? Surely even if 7th is our ceiling we should have a large gap above those below?

I would honestly rather the bloke reign in the transfer spending and put all his money into BMD as atleast that way fans can stop dreaming of the big time when you see us throwing money around when in reality we will never do anything with it without a very very good manager (see Liverpool).

I think he has to look at whats happening at Utd and Spurs and think nows the time if a top manager became available to get them in and back them to the hilt and try strike whilst those 2 are potentially weak.

Spurs are skint paying off the stadium and if Poch goes it could all go wrong if they appoint a dud

Likewise Utd look like they need a good few seasons to rebuild.

I like Silva but I've always felt he was a manager appointed to fight for 7th/8th every season and not someone who realistically would take us into the top 6/win trophies.

If Mosh is a gambling man - Jose, Zidane and possibly Simeone all available in the summer...

Maybe when our spineless fans start believing in this sleeping giant those outside the club will.

Im sick of the lack of ambition of the club, from Kenwright to the fans scared to sing at the ground in fear of looking like kopites.

The fact "Unsy" was given a consideration last season confirmed what small time fools inhabitant this once proud club.

People laugh at the bells over the park but one thing they never do regardless of the stench of delusion is talk themselves down. Our lot absolutely revel in it.

I don’t think it’s as simple as that you know mate.

My point is mate Moshiri is the 4th biggest benefactor in English football

He's pumping in top 6 level money

He was paying Koeman a bigger salary than PSG were paying Emery

The only thing holding this club back is lack of ambition. Aim low you achieve low its as simple as that in my eyes and our fans allow it to happen.
