Don't think anyone could question they were our star players under Martinez. Just because they aren't the star players at their current teams doesn't mean they weren't for us.
Just trying to say how things pan out. Agree they were part of a potentially bright future for us. But look where it’s at now

Yep. I'm not using it as a stick to beat him with just telling it how it is.

Moshiri can't keep anyone who doesn't want to be here same as any other team these days.

I had hoped he would be able to keep Stones, Lukaku and Barkley and help us build a team around them but that's old fashioned thinking. Players if they're better than us currently won't stay longer than 2-3 years because that's just the way things work now.
My point isn't that they are better or not than us. HOWEVER, part of the issue we have with the club is that other players don't see us as a top tier team. We need to win again to change that and we certainly can.

True.

In fact,Rooney aside, how many players have left Everton go to on to bigger and better things?

Possibly Fellaini and Arteta? Even then they hardly set the world on fire.
Stones has won 2 league titles, 2 other domestic cups, played in the latter stages of the Champions League and a world cup semi final since he left us after consecutive 11th placed finishes. I reckon he's probably got a decent argument that he's gone on to bigger and better things.

Without hope it's all a waste of time mate.
Any hopes I had for Everton to kick on from midtable mediocrity were swiftly kicked into touch by Walsh and Koeman.

Hope without anything to base it on is just blind faith and I'm not the religious type.

We're moving forward again but that gap between us and them is huge and other teams below are catching up with us quicker than we are with those ahead of us.

I reckon you are a defeatist, but there you go.

Absolutely, I appreciate you can't take that away.He had done amazingly well.

I just think think that throughout his whole career to date, he has been incredibly lucky by always being in the right place at the right time.

If someone put the money down for Richarlison and he wanted to go then he'd be out same as Stones, Lukaku and Barkley before him. Nobody with the money wants him so he won't be sold but as we've seen before the money offered and player power dictates whether they will move, not Moshiri.
Think if you had been paying attention you would know all 3 of those players we wanted to keep and all 3 made it clear they didnt want to be at Everton and would not sign new contracts, what can we do about that? Nothing

Exactly so how is Moshiri going to stop that happening this summer or in the future?
Nothig but the point remains this is the first summer in ages when we dont have to worry about losing players, maybe thats down to Moshiri, maybe its done to Brands, who knows, but its a nice situation for Silva to build on

There isnt a club owner on the planet who can, so whats the problem if he does it?
There isn't. I'm just saying there's no reason to feel like our star players are going to stick around any more or less than before he was here. If they want out then they get out these days regardless of who owns the club.
