Dave, if we could take McCarthy and Barry out of that team and put into the 2020 version we would have a very decent team now.

They battered Chelsea in that cup tie; this lot would hide behind the couch to avoid Costa.
They also should have beaten United in the SF.
It was a strong and well balanced unit...unlike this load of tripe we have now. Look at the holding midfield of Barry and McCarthy and look at Davies and Gomes. Look at the three pronged attack of Barkley / Lukaku / Deulofeu or Mirallas.
That team back in 2016 would beat this one 4 or 5 nil.
That's down to numb nuts Moshiri and the rubbish he's hired to build a squad.

I'm not sure how people can be disappointed in him, He's put money and we've absolutely flushed it down the drain, The only REAL mark against his name would be Silva but he wanted the young upcoming manager to lead us to glory in the shiny new stadium playing attacking free flowing football, I could see what his aim was but it was just a humongous ask from Silva.
He trusted Koeman and Walsh and ultimately they wasted probably one of the biggest moments imo in the past 15 years I know people blame Brands and other factors like Allardyce but that summer when we bought Klassen and Gylfi and all the rest there was an opening and m8 not only did we mess it up we managed to go 1000000000 steps backwards.
