For 20 years deep in the North of England a giant slept , he would sometimes wander where he wasn't wanted & was never seen by some but he was always a Giant .
Now this Giant was not liked by The evil Murdoch who made lots of gold from the sun & sky .
The giants neighbour in the north the redshites did not like Murdoch's sun but happily took all the wealth they could from his sky
One sunny day a VERY rich man who had once helped a Giant in the south came to the north & woke the GIANT from his long sleep promising him new land & wealth. This made the Giant very happy & powerful. Many people who cared about the giant had longed for this day as thousands had followed him on his travels throughout the land longing for the day when he would once again reign over Murdoch's empire & the sky would embrace him & show him to all who wanted to see .
However the evil Murdoch & the giants neighbour did not like the Giant being powerful again & tried to destroy him with fairy-tales of the rich man not being rich at all & the giant not really being a giant.
But the Giant & his new rich friend Moshiri were too clever & much to powerful for Murdoch & the redshites & they soon had the biggest castle & the all best soldiers as all fell before them .
Once again the Giant from the north whose name is Everton ruled the land of Footy & they all came to worship him from the North , South , East & west some even came from a place called Norway which once had been the land of the redshites

All the giants followers known as EVERTONIANS laughed & sang strange songs about the giants soldiers ,some even drank a strange brew called Chang . Soon they could not remember when the giant had slept & no longer spoke of the druid called Moyesy & the once proud but poor owner of the giants land called Kenwright they just wallowed in the joy of being the best in the whole land

..... and all the Evertonians lived happy ever after

as for the redshites they soon were banished from the land of footy & followed an evil man called Klopp ....but thats another story !!!

lollollollollol wasn't expecting that

This could have been written by Joyce or Hemingway, pure poetry.

1. Moshiri never independantly held any shares in Arsenal, neither did Usmanov btw, they both held them in the form of a 50% share each had in the company they used to make share purchases - R&W Holdings, so how was any form of Proxy buying of shares going on their - as the company made the share purchases why exactly was Moshiri needed?
2. Usmanov has gained absolutely zero more influence at Arsenal by buying the shares in real terms, he and Moshiri through the company co - held the shares anyway at 30% so no net gain for him.
I didn't say he did, I suggested he was a proxy who moved aside to allow his former employee to hold a substantial amount of AFC shares at a strategic moment in that club's power struggle. The jockeying for control will come to a head in short order when Wenger leaves.

3. Asenal doesnt have any other shareholders - Kroenke owns 67% Usmanov 30% mate, so which shareholders are going to be concerned exactly by this and apply pressure?

There's stakeholders to be dealt with also. Owners own stock but they're not untouchable from organised protest which could, conceivably, be wielded in favour of a major share holder like Usmanov who might be more amenable to larger transfer fees than the more steady as she goes Kroenke has been. Any notion that they might lose an asset like Usmanov might edge power relations in his direction...if he was to threaten/intimate he'd leave.

4. Kroenke doesnt have long term plans? he has publicly stated he has and that the club will pass to his children as an inheritance after hes gone, sounds pretty long term planning there

Fair enough, there is no big indication he'd sell up anytime soon.

5. we havent had a stadium announcement within a day of him taking over = he has no plans for a stadium, really?

There's no suggestion we'll have plans in the pipeline either. Anderson has confirmed that the stadium situation remains deadlocked.

6. You do know that Usmanov made an absolute fortune by investing in facebook in 2009 when it was a company that was barely breaking even mate, yeah he has no brain power at all and must have got the KGB to sort that one out, how they knew that company was going to explode into what it became is strange though, also invested early in twitter, in alibaba, turned megafon from a relatively small company into russias second largest mobile company, re-nationalised gazprom from the oligarchs who had asset stripped it and got it all back and led to it coming back into semi state control again which wa shugely beneficial to the russian people, but yeah he is just a muscle man and Moshiri who worked alongside him and advised on all these deals is just a bag acrrying accountant
7. just a little fuirtehr bit about them having no brain power - they bought 100m shares in apple in 2013 for around the 50 dollar a share mark, sold them 6 months later at around the 85 dollar mark, whatever you think of them mate, they are absolutely plugged into the tech markets and have made shrwed purchase or investment one after another.
so how business savvy are they, even ingoring anything yu feel is tainted by being in Russia, they have made billions in investments in companies that have nothing to do with that time

He's a bureaucrat mate. A Party machine bureaucrat that had the instinct to make a grab for state owned resources and acquire them on the cheap by greasing palms and threatening others. He sussed out Facebook and Twitter? Some one else had hold of his wealth and stuck it into e-commerce for him and it paid dividends. He has that much cash it'd be hard not to invest in some money laundering venture and get a few bulls eyes. How many other businesses did his advisers take a punt with his cash on that fell on its arse?

You talk in awe about these people. there's no need. They're just criminals with the survival skills.
..............

Its all personal wealth mate even if its liquid cash or tied up in investments.

For him he can just use letters of guarantee or credit from banks against his wealth to pump cash into us.

As @eternal_defiance stated its actually impossible to determine his exact net worth. However i would GUESS that every year his assets would be increasing in value to the tune of $150-200mil so over 5 years he could pump in £500mil to us and not have his assets affected only the interest / growth.

Who knows also what new sponsors are there and if theres anyone else behind him as a silent partner...

If i was him i think id borrow against my investments....build a stadium and put in a couple hundred million on players and watch ths value of the club grow + with sponsors etc and branding as well as performance on the field of course matched by tv revenues he could make it all back anyway.

Absolutely spot on there, this is how these fella's work....We should be excited about what is happening, at long long last the future is looking bright for our long suffering fanbase, let's embrace it and stop all the negativity......PLEASE!!

Yes, I accept the mood music after this deal was far different to that when Earl bought the Gregg's out.

My concern is we now have the opportunity to break out of the straitjacket of the past in terms of failure to communicate and have a new way of running this club that's more open. If fans simply shrug and accept that this feller has the option of remaining silent if he wishes (as per, for example, @Foot Long Hot Dog and a few others) then we'll forever be in the dark. I do hope BK wasn't selling him the club partly on the basis of a passive fan base who'll leave him alone to go missing for large chunks of the year and leave a flunky in charge of the club. This is a crucial moment when it has to be impressed on Moshiri that it wont be tolerated any longer. My fears are that he looks like he's cast in that mould of Everton director/owner who run silent and run deep.

Over the last 20 years we have seen a lot of busted promises, hand waving and long periods of silence from the top of the table. It,s understandable to me that the fan-base needs the transparency it so badly has been denied to be able to "TRUST" the club again. At the end of the day actions speaks louder than words but we need to hear the words given the usual suspects are still hanging about the club.
