It was pretty obvious to me last week whilst Moshri was selling his shares that he was taking especially after I had heard the previous talk of Usmanov taking over prior to Christmas (which seemed massively far fetched at the time) yet people were still saying on here last Saturday morning prior to it breaking, Esk included I think, that it would be The Yanks.

That's true I thought it would be the Americans just because as far as I was aware, and indeed many inside the club, there was no-one in the frame.

Re the Usmanov stories prior to Christmas, it's interesting to look at the owner of the source of the story. :dodgy:

I think another investor will be brought in by Moshiri, someone who he has worked with before and who he trusts to help him make decisions on the board. I think it's very unlikely that he will keep working solely with the people who were already at the club before he arrived. I also think there is 0% chance of it being Usmanov.

Do you have the link for this story from this forum?

BLIMEY...can we put USMANOV to bed and be content. It's no more than the CUB & THE KING scenario...it's the top man letting his boy go off and do the same as he but out on his own, that's how I'm viewing it, crass as it sounds...

We have (or will eventually in all likelihood have) an outright BILLIONAIRE owner....who digs footy...that's to say it's not a pair of AMERICANS with a middling reputation and nowhere near the wealth nor wherewithal of our guy. Again....WE HAVE A BILLIONAIRE OWNER lads....!!!!

At two mins past midnight on New Years Ever did you honestly....HONESTLY ever think we'd be able to say that in MARCH of 2016?

Enjoy it...'effin' Noreen, some sound as though they've already put a deposit on the MOSHIRI OUT banner, ya' bad boobs...

Get out the dark, wallow in the light a while, we rarely get the chance.

Now, has BOBSY been jibbed and JOSE called yet....? x

I keep coming back to David Deins involvement in this, the rumours are he done the introducing between Moshiri and Kenwright. he was part of R&W holdings from what i have read - the chairman if my memory serves me right.

Do we think there is potential for him to become involved at the club - is he still just involved in the premier league setup?

Think he was deeply involved with the building of their new stadium his expertise could be invaluable if we were to go down that avenue, thoughts

From what i have read, he is very happily reitred nowadays mate and has no itnbention of coming back to the game

Suppose that answered that! Last time i read he was involved in the Prem setup championing what we do across Europe... Was thinking based on his history with Moshiri (with R&W) and the introduction (if thats how it went down) if he would be part of the new Moshiri regime.

Think he just brokered the intial metteing and helped it along, probably due to being friends with both mate

Well I must admit that my practical experience of this level of Company involvement, % owned etc is confined to watching Dragon's Den. " nah, that's too small a % to make it worth my while " is a common refrain. It seems that Mr Moshiri has the right % to make it worth his while , particularly when he inevitably gets a bit more, say 70 ish %. Its unlikely I would think that another investor , certainly not Usmanov, would be attracted at that stage to a say sub 30 % of our club. The next stage then will be to grow the business by making investment into the club. If he does that successfully as we all hope he will do then in a few years he can recoup part of his investment , maybe by selling 10 - 20 % of his own , plus other shares and a 30 % investment in Everton becomes substantial and attracts more investment. At least that's my hope.

Meanwhile it feels a bit like the week after a General Election when the party you've voted for has come to power , ending X years of the previous regime's missrule. The initial euphoria has subsided a wee bit, you realise there is a long road ahead to get the necessary changes done, not everything you want will happen or be changed ...... but the optimism brings a smile to your face when you think about the potential the future holds !!

He has only just been cleared. You don't buy 49.9% to sit idly I'd say. As you say it will be nice to hear something and I am sure we will. I suspect we will have a snippet soon, and big plans in the summer. The comments from Martinez are very different to anything anyone had to say about Earl.
Yes, I accept the mood music after this deal was far different to that when Earl bought the Gregg's out.

My concern is we now have the opportunity to break out of the straitjacket of the past in terms of failure to communicate and have a new way of running this club that's more open. If fans simply shrug and accept that this feller has the option of remaining silent if he wishes (as per, for example, @Foot Long Hot Dog and a few others) then we'll forever be in the dark. I do hope BK wasn't selling him the club partly on the basis of a passive fan base who'll leave him alone to go missing for large chunks of the year and leave a flunky in charge of the club. This is a crucial moment when it has to be impressed on Moshiri that it wont be tolerated any longer. My fears are that he looks like he's cast in that mould of Everton director/owner who run silent and run deep.

Based solely on your own impatience and sense of entitlement.

He has been director\owner of Everton for less than a day now though. I dont think we will hear anything before Saturday when hopefully it is used to give fans\players a lift
