I think in normal circumstances you would be right.

However, with the sanctions on Oligarchs and Moshiri being heavily/financially linked to one of those and his Russian companies, I think the landscape has completely changed for Moshiri.

I think Moshiri probably wants out as quick as possible before the authorities start looking into his affairs.

Having the new stadium seemingly secured and the building underway, we must be a more attractive proposition for potential buyers than we were without a new stadium.
I don't think he will want to sell until the stadium is complete. Firstly that makes his equity more valuable and also I'd imagine he'll want to see that through even for ego sake. It's the only thing barring avoiding relegation which saves his ownership from being a total disaster.

I can see him seeking to sell a portion of his shareholding, maybe even to an individual/consortium who ultimately have their eyes on full ownership over time, rather than selling out in full in the next 2-3 years.

I think USM are in it for the long haul. Sanctions to the Russians wont go on forever - eventually sanctions will hurt the West too and you only have to look at the amount of Russian dough swilling around London to realise once the conflict simmers down it'll become welcomed again.

The sponsers with us being "suspended" rather than "terminated" suggests thats the clubs thinking long term unless things got much worse and WW3 kicked off!

I wondered with all the Russin property found in Liverpool yesterday is it to do with our development in the docklands.

Mate, what is happening in Ukraine is horrific. However, that does not make every Russian a criminal. I agree that Russian money is everywhere. They essentially own Cyprus. Probably much of London.

It could be, what I take from that piece is the extent to which Russian money has permeated through the UK economy, inevitably meaning that a point will soon be reached where too much investigation becomes uncomfortable for people closer to home, rather than just oligarchs with 15-bedroom mansions and super-yachts.

From Evertons viewpoint, I think the best scenario off-field is for the stadium to be completed, obviously, and for Moshiri to dilute his holding to compensate for the loss of Usmanov/USM input, and tide us over for the next couple of years through turbulent times. The only concern there would be that it would add to the general mishmash in direction at the club. He may also be hamstrung by any deal with Kenwright lasting until BMD is operational.

Ideally in the short-term he would secure additional investment with the condition from the buyer that chairman and board changes are made, but we don't know the extent to which his hands are tied. We need change and fresh impetus at boardroom level as an immediate priority second only to securing our PL status.

Good post mate, i agree, i think Russia are in deep in all institutions and infrastructure in the UK.

Id be surprised to see Moshiri go to be honest, someone would have to make him an offer to be good to be true and i dont think thats happening given the state of the business and while the stadium is being built as it will add to the value of the club, hes to deep in, in transitional investment in it.

For me his plan was two fold - throw money at the team - improve it and maintain the asset. Thats failed. Secondly improve the infrastructure of the club and thus its value to appreciate the investment and asset. We're at that stage with the new ground, though hes failed at the first part of the plan, so football wise we're on a wing and a prayer.
