No awareness whatsoever who would of thought sacking a mediocre but renowned and storied manager due to his playing career a week before the window closed would of affected recruiting prospective players. Should of been sacked after bournemouth but knowing us we would of still been searching for a manager at that time anyway. Super inept at running a club now doesn't even offer the financial incentives due to the slew of blunders he oversaw during his reign and the russian funding from his benefactor being halted. Now we just have another kenwright halfwit. The only reason kenwright was sustainable despite the club being on life support his entire reign was he got lucky with Moyes who ensured we stayed competitive on perennially minuscule funds. Did nothing to build the club same with Moshiri. I know English fans have a derisive view of American football supporters but they could of really capitalized on having howard and donovan on the squad. The game is growing daily here and people are constantly looking for a club to be attached to.

It’s been an issue for a long, long time.
I went to the Everton/DC United game back in 2011–thousands upon thousands of Evertonians there and the club didn’t even set up any areas to sell merch.

Thats such a disgrace Now know a lot of Americans who want to be engaged with premier league either latching to established sky 6 teams or leeds since they have such a large American contingent or even Fulham. It's a burgeoning market

I went to the Everton event in DC over the summer. They had a little merch booth iirc. They gave out free Everton keychains.

Mine broke two days later. Incremental progress ?

Don't think we'll ever see that Gordon money again, that'll either go straight to the stadium or Moshiri will take it out the club when he sells up as interest on his loans.

The fact he now appears to be asset stripping us, as well as managing our decline for our anticipated relegation simultaneously, means that Moshiri is without question the biggest threat facing this club's long term future.

It's absolutely imperative that he sells up.
He isn’t now, and has never been, the one who owned Everton. He’s just doing what he’s told for his master, Usmanov.

He was told to make money available in the past and spend it on players, he did,

It’s a different world for Usmanov now, and he’s been told to recover whatever he can and not spend a penny more than essential.

He’s a front, and a bagman, and never was more than that.

Without doubt that's the plan now. If we stay up its a bonus. Go down and he'll continue to strip the club of its assets. Probably £50-100m left in the playing squad. He will then walk away selling the club at a knock down price. Clear as day now.
Think the club would be worth a lot more in value if it remains in the premier league. However if we do go down, those parachute payments will be a nice little loan interest repayment for him. The value he would have to knock off the club probably wouldn't be offset by it though, who's going to want to buy a championship side with a half finished stadium and no decent players?

Great post mate.

You couldn't even buy an Everton shirt at John Lennon Airport for many years (not sure if this is still the case). The failings of the club's commercial department - if one even exists - have contributed massively to the financial mess we are in, especially when it comes to FFP.

Does anybody know how much we owe Moshiri? I dont mean the value of his shares as they are his to sell as he chooses without greatly effecting the club.
I mean do we owe him anything else,I know we spent about 700m on players and recouped about 400 but surely over 7 years I would assume that would mostly be covered by TV money.
The other thing is BMD who is paying for that are the bills being pald by the club or a separate company.
The reason I ask is if he walks away does he really lose that much ? Bearing in mind it is probably Usminovs money anyway and losing 500 million to him is not really that much when you consider the sanctions.

A true visionary

There's a fair amount of toxicity and hatred towards that thread and yet the OP was spot on, Moshiri really is a fraud.

What’s the excuse for Southampton will a complete no mark manager and on same points as us, recruiting our targets? That’s not the manager pull.
