You have to take a 10 year view on this. West Ham could sack moyes, hire silva, and be relegated next season. Of course they could do better.Sort ourselves off the pitch and we should be at least be competing like a West Ham even without Usmanov's billions. They've had a poor season but are in a European final and have qualified the Europe via the league the previous couple of seasons. They're not even particularly well run either off the pitch.
Keep Moyes they have mid table side and a potential run at the uefa cup.
Staying in lane and building slowly is the best bet for us ,West Ham and villa.
Unless you can put spend all of your opponents on an continual basis - like Man City and Chelsea - a short term spending plan usually ends in regulation. (See QPR, Leeds, villa under Lerner).
Long term progress needs progressive spending. Midtable players and young potential that will be sold on.
We all get caught up in buying names though, but look at the players we missed out on during January - ayew and spurs lad, hardly tearing it up.
Midtable sides are usually a bad managerial appointment and bad transfer window away from a relaxation battle.
