Is Moshiri actually all that bad? Bear in mind that he's currently charged with breaking the rules for spending TOO MUCH money on us, and looks to have successfully facilitated the construction of a top class stadium that has been out of our reach for decades.

Yes, there has been mismanagement, but none of the proposed replacements are offering anything like the amount of investment that Moshiri has already provided.

I'm not in love with him ffs. I'm just thinking out loud and asking the question?

I reckon his bad footballing decisions outweigh his good footballing decisions by about 5 to 1. So I think yes, he is really bad and running a football club.

I think the fact that we were so near to being relegated and utter catastrophe is enough proof to substantiate that view, and I don't argue against it.

Still, my understanding is that the proposed alternatives aren't offering to invest much at all. They want to run the club on its revenue, which sounds awfully similar to the Kenwright era

A good decision maker is what we need right now, even if we have far less money.

Best thing for all parties is Moshiri sells to a filthy rich individual who puts top brass in the boardroom.

Him staying on without USM/Usmanov probably doesnt work but I also have zero faith in these Yank groups MSP/777. Many are simping over them but I dont forsee anything other than these groups having us as a Crystal Palace type club bobbling around for eternity in midtable. Yes its better than the last 2 seasons but as we figured out under Kenwrights regime it gets very stale very quickly particularly when clubs around us like Newcastle, Villa etc start winning tings whilst we look on in envy.

It doesnlt say that AT ALL. Go back and read it again: "The Guardian understands that BDO’s concerns led to OFSI being notified about Moshiri, who has hired an expert sanctions lawyer at Peters & Peters – one of the UK’s largest law firms – according to correspondence sent to the Guardian on Moshiri’s behalf".

It's a fishing expedition by a well known Russophobe and Cold War crackpot.

The extent of the qualifications alone should have had anyone reading it rolling their eyes.

If it says 'Simon Goodley' at the top of any article save yourself a few minutes and just dont read it.

But if the rumours are true that Bell and Downing are going to be involved and are partnering with MSP then that would surely counteract that argument considering they are both Everton fans and surely want the club to succeed on the pitch.

Also, aren’t Villa owned by a Yank?

But the best thing would be a filthy rich owner. Not many seem interested unfortunately.

Filthy rich makes very little difference to our current position. We've already had our shot at the billionaire splurge and he blew it. FFP is improving but we are still in a hole so Jeff Bezos would be limited in what he could spend. The only way forward is getting the books balanced then increasing revenue steadily through commercial activity and the stadium opening. That requires sound business acumen more than it does billions in the bank so getting the right people is vital.

Educate yourself.

The Guardian is not - and hasn't been for years - the politically reformist, soft left go to source for the muesli eating Mensheviks it once was. It is a rancid state controlled organ.

Anything from that rag from Goodley or anyone else concerning Usmanov-Moshiri-Everton should be taken with a couple of hundred weight of salt.

Everton’s like Eastenders, it’s a constant saga, no one is ever happy, and every time a new article comes out, I just hear that drum beat

I liked it best when the Mitchell brothers were in it.

Bill Kenwright is an Everton fan ultimately it means little in the grand scheme.

Villa have American part owners but a lot of their investment has been from their Egyptian Multi Billionaire owner who's a big footie fan.

Simply put - MSP/777 are not rich neither are they footie fans they're investment groups who'll want profit which is great until you look at all the other clubs they own stakes in and the general theme is no investment/success.

I get fans are eager for change but all I see is movement of the chairs on a sinking ship.

If we dont get a City/Newcastle/Abramovich type buyer nothing substantial will change in our fortunes imo.

We're at the stage where corporate and distressed asset recovery expertise are going to be central and I hope/assume that MSP are coming on board to leverage expertise within a sports business context in that scenario.

Mega bucks investors don't tend to want to do the heavy lifting in that regard and nor do they tend to have the relevant skillets within organisations to leverage that capability. They want to turbo-charge a club from the off, unhindered by restrictions.

We need competent and efficient management to turn profit and be sustaining.

I think there will be churn in the ownership over the next 5-10 years.

If we are run well, then there is every chance that we become of interest to investors that have winning pots in mind as well as a healthy set of accounts.
