I mentioned something yesterday to the same effect. We were finishing top 8, attracting managers like Carlo Ancelotti and at one point had a squad of decent quality like Richarlison, James Rodriguez, Digne, Gordon, Mina, prime Gana, prime Coleman.
Obviously we hit the corrupt FFP ceiling but that would have been resolved with the BMD naming rights deal that would have been struck with Uncle Usmanov once the ground was built.
Our sponser for USM FF was circa £12m per annum, throw in the deals with Megafon etc and another £20m-25m per annum for BMD and we'll have been out of any trouble regarding the PSR nonsensical rulings.
You can guarantee we wont be finishing top 8, attracting world class managers or spending sufficient levels of cash on players under 777 or MSP.
Then the same fans who moan about us spending money under Moshiri will moan that we dont spend enough money like they did under Kenwright.
You cant win with large portions of our fanbase. Its why every manager we appoint gets sacked and why players cant wait to get away from the club. Become a toxic place that really does affect ones zen.

Except ended sponsorship didn’t affect the first year we were deducted points for, it was only the second charge that came into play for. And any deals starting from when the stadium was built wouldn’t have helped our accounts 3 years ago.
We had no money before the war which is why your idol only had 1.7m.

It was all dodgy money anyway. Usmanov spreading it via different businesses of his, just what city have been charged with.
The naming rights for the stadium was a joke, no one else was interested and he found a way to funnel some more dough into the club via that exclusivity agreement.
Basically none of that money was real - Moshiri had to rely on begging from his mate even at that point.

Loads of people did say that £28m for Yannick Bolasie, £27m for Cenk Tosun, £45m for the babysitter, £12m for Ashley Williams, £25m for Theo Walcott, £20m for Morgan Schneiderlin, £30m for Michael Keane, £35m for Alex Iwobi, £20m for Andre Gomes, £30m for Yerry Mina, £25m for Davy Klaassen, £20m for Ben Godfrey, £10m for Fabian Delph and £20m for Allan were bad ideas actually. Have another go, you might get there eventually.

He’s not my hero mate, but the sheer money thrown into the club and having a world class stadium on the docks for the next few generations is how I’ll remember him.
