It's time for him to show who boss. He probably worried about looking fickle as soon as come in, it's not nice to sack a manager when you have just come in but he got to relized he got no choice in the matter.

It's OK a good piece of PR to the fans and will create a connection between him and the fans. Hope he not relying on Bill for advice

It's looking more like he (and the board) aren't ready to sack Martinez because they're not sure if they can bag the next manager. If Everton are aiming high and going for the likes of Mourinho, Löw, Pellegrini and De Boer then there's no guarantee any of them will come.

Then we'll be aiming for a Howe, Koeman or Villas-Boas...which might not be the right idea, so Moshiri may prefer to stick with Martinez for another year.

This continued inaction while the first team implodes is very interesting. I can't wait to see how this Summer is handled. We could be a totally different club by August.

...or we could still be in the same situation and everyone will be questioning Moshi's motivations.

Please don't, another year, I couldn't take it,nurse,nurse.

Wonder if he's regretting getting into us. Not been a great start for him has it? If he can wangle someone like mourinho taking over he'd be a hero to every blue. Proven winner at every level taking over would be a real statement for us. I really hope we do get mourinho and start moving forward. We have definitely gone backwards in the last 12 months.

Mate, you leave yourself wide open for stick off certain posters with that.

You have already been told he's going, relax and stop getting daft hypothetical situations in your head.

Only a complete idiot would leave Martinez in charge, I don't think this billionaire is one of those, do you?

I haven't been told anything, Thomas.

It's logical to assume we haven't received any official feedback about Martinez's position because he may still be here next season. It's been derailing our last few weeks which is damaging enough so that may be the reason for it.

Instead of stick from these certain posters, they could try debating x

I can understand Kenwright and Moshiri making an agreement to conclude his investment deal that there would be no change in manager until season's end unless they both consented. I can also understand Moshiri not wishing to be seen as a hatchet man so soon into his "reign".

It does strike me though, as very selfish of Kenwright if such an agreement was made. Finally, someone comes along who is willing to invest significantly, deal with the stadium issue, and bring a professionalism sadly lacking to Everton's affairs and there is now this unsightly interlude between having to ensure horrendous results and performances and what is going to be one of the most anticipated and obvious sackings in the modern era, whatever slant is put on it.

If the season had more than 2 games to run, we would be sleepwalking into relegation. His sacking could have been justified at any time over the last year in particular, but they should have swallowed the pill after the F.A. Cup semi-final, at the very, very latest. Kenwright's ego would appear to be the sacrificial lamb for supporters having to endure this utterly humiliating shambles.

It is clear Kenwright and Elstone both need to go and I am hopeful this will be done in the next 6-12 months. I was tolerating Kenwright remaining as chairman to garner the club goodwill in the media, but we need a completely fresh start under Moshiri. I am also expecting Kenwright to play the lead media role when the announcement of the "mutual consent" departure is finally made. Despite his blind loyalty to Martinez, he simply will not be able to help himself, we will be regaled (probably via Jim White) with tales of how difficult and agonising the decision was for "him", the sleepless nights he has endured, and be treated to a hugely ironic reminder that it is he, Bill Kenwright OBE, who has listened to the fans and has their true interests at heart. What a difficult week this will be for him.

Esk's information should not be taken lightly. That much seems very clear.

There's enough positive info in there to tell you that Martinez is here for a few more weeks at best and we are currently seeking a top drawer manager to spend and develop with Moshri's funds.

I am skeptical too about anything Everton, but after the debacle of the last few weeks, there is zero chance IMO anybody at the club would seem it a good idea to keep this man in charge.

He's gone, let's strap in and enjoy the ride.

I believe Mr Esk too. He didn't say we've actually employed someone, he's said we're looking at replacements.

What I'm saying is if we don't bag one of these candidates, we'll be left with the O'Neils and Howes of this world. In the worst-case scenario, we don't even bag them (for whatever reason). So we fall back on the manager we already have, who's secured us our record points total and made two semi-finals.

In lieu of any official feedback from the club, this seems the likely thinking behing the decision not to publicly say Martinez is leaving.

let's strap in and enjoy the ride.

That's exactly what I'm doing, Friend

That is the only plausible explanation I can come up with.

In my more fanciful moments, I am thinking he is trying to sign up Simeone but nowt can happen until after the CL Final :(

Mind you, I am now of the opinion that Koeman or AVB....even Eddie.....would be a step up from Bobby.

Nah, happens everywhere where a major new owner comes in to a long term failing business. Those who have been allowed to get away with poor performance start to panic and there is a general mess.

June and July is going to be an utter blood bath but it's a full cleansing of the Augean stables.

Aye, plausible is right...hardly daft thinking. Until we hear some solid information, we've only got our own deductions to go on.

Agreed...even a season of Unsworth with Sheedy/Dunc is a better bet.

But as the small-scale Bournemouth protest showed, the board may not appreciate the situation in the same way we so.

I understand why you may say the above but the reality is we are a highly attractive under-developed piece of real estate in the best street in Europe (the PL).

That combined with the financial backing of Moshiri ensures we will not be left with middle ranking candidates. I can assure you of that.
