I think one thing people get lost in is thinking this player here, or that player there are most important to our success. In reality, whether Lukaku goes or stays is almost completely meaningless to the longterm success of Everton compared to the really important things. Three things will contribute to 95% of the success of the club. 1. The manager, as he it is who decides who players where, when, and with what tactics. Weve seen how a bad manager can ruin good players. 2. A DoF, who is good at his job, can not only earn the club 50 million per year, but ensure there are far fewer duds on big name signings. 3. The Owner is the one who ultimately will generate revenue for the club. A wise businessman can turn shrewd deals financially, that put more revenue in the pockets of the manager and DoF.

If we earn an extra 20 mill per year, we can put that into wages. With those higher wages we can put out a better product, and get more support, and thus turn around and negotiate better business deals, and repeat. An owner who knows what he is doing can just by his wisdom put together deals that give this club the finances to compete with the top 4 regardless of what players we keep or sell. This window shows more than anything that money talks, and theres only so much money you can earn from gate receipts. The real top clubs in the world are so PURELY because they generate enough income outside of that.
I got a little bit soggy reading this

Think you'll be able to put that theory to bed very very soon mate ;)

It need to happen fella because this will damage our season preparations if the lack of movement on personal "in" is allowed to continue in this manner.

We have a fantastic opportunity to have a crack at the top 4 with no European football this year so the player preparations must be done early.

I get what you mean mate but look how many other clubs have made big signings so far? Not many, not many at all. I think that will partly be down to the euros delaying matters with players, agents and club officials having some family time, partly due to the increase in money around, agents will be trying to screw the best deal for their players and as the influx of money is big and new, there are many precedents to help guide the market. The ESK does have some more info than we do and he hasn't been swayed that one two or more big signings are imminent. Imagine how crap the transfer windows would be if all we had to rely on was talk spurt rumours...

Well slip it out again. Bad spelling becomes intrinsic because some people get lazy and other people accept it. I've been getting students to fight the fight for "sulphur" for 20 years +.

What next? "Esophagus" ? "fosforus"?
Estrogen ect is already here.. medical texts are usually for a universal audience, who now speak US English predominantly.

That is scanderlous looking at those figures. The only comfort is that those responsible for 'netting' those deals won't be involved in any discussions in their renewal.
Chelsea have increased there commercial revenues since then...Christian Purslow who used to be the RS CEO under Hicks and Gillette and has been Chelsea's Commercial director the last 18 months and since then has got Chelsea a new 40 million shirt deal with Yokohama Tires and in May got a 60 million a year shirt deal with nike that starts in 2017-2018 season onwards.

Sad to say but the RS seem to have a top guy in their commercial department in Billy Hogan who FSG shrewdly based in London permanently with a RS commercial office in Canary Wharf,RS commercial revenues are 120 million odd right now, with naming rights to the new stand and new kit deal soon they will be in the 150 million plus bracket per year.

Moshiri/Enstone or whoever, their next job is to get a shrewd competant commercial director in who's probably worked in banking/finance sector etc,Purslow Hogan Woodward all came from that background and seems to be great at negotiations to get massive commercial deals done.

Our commercial revenues are a pitiful 16 million a year which is scandalous, which by the way is less than the RS new training kit deal with BetVictor per year.

If we use last year's income as a base we can look forward to see how much additional revenue will be generated over the next 5 years to be added to this notional £250 million.

TV & Broadcasting revenues over 5 years: additional £300 million
Improved sponsorship and commercial revenues (at average of £40 million a year): £200 million
Player trading as a result of DoF appointment: budget £100 million surplus
Assume new stadium available in yrs 4 & 5: additional revenues £60 million
Assume naming rights for 2 years: £20 million

That adds up to an additional £680 million. Add in his £250 million investment and there's more than £930 million additional funding available for investment, stadium, wages and squad development.

Add into that long term debt of £100 - £150 million and we've anywhere between £1.03 and £1.08 billion to achieve our objectives. Add in success on the pitch, say CL qualification for 3 years and we can add another £120-200 million to the budget.

This is why I am so excited about our future.
Have you deducted Taxes and the Wage bill from those figures.

If we want to be successful then the wage bill is going to be around 150-200 million pounds a year,so those figures you posted will go down quite considerably.

I deliberately did not go down that route and I'll readily accept our annual costs are going to rise considerably - we need to get our wage spend closer to Spurs and Liverpool realistically. It was more to demonstrate the gross resources potentially available in the context of Moshiri 'only' investing £250 million
