You don't 'know' that at all Dave, it's merely an opinion.

The debt hasn't affected the clubs saleability either, that's been down to the asking price.

They could choose to use the incremental income to pay down debt, but it would make the club even less competitive on the pitch, which might drive down the clubs value by more than the value of the debt they paid off, so it wouldn't necessarily be a prudent course of action.

In a few previous posts you talked about precedents. Clearly there's a precendent here you've chosen to ignore.

That's like saying you haven't got a clue what he's like but it wont stop you saying he's rubbish.

I've seen him play, but not week in week out, as I have zero interest in Jock football. However, from what I've seen of him, he looked like more of destructive player than a quality footballer. Fell free to educate me with your vast knowledge of the lad mate.

I know about as much of Wanyama as others know of Fer. I've seen him in the CL games and he looks better than the yard dog you write him off as. He's strong, can tackle cleanly and get forward for a goal.

Why would you say he's a yard dog? What brings you to that conclusion?

There's not a precedent that I can see to the current choice they have to make.

Lescott???

Positive net spends are a thing of the past at Everton. We could mention the new deal as a factor in that changing but we've been regularly outspent by sides that have spent time in the championship & league while we never moved out the PL.

Daveks assertion that we won't spend anything other than sales is a fair one and considers the precedents this board have set IMO.

He just didn't look comfortable on the ball when I watched him, he looks a beast, but I didn't see quality in him. Maybe I'm being harsh with the 'yard dog' tag, as I said, I've only seen him in a handful of CL games, but based soley on that, I didn't see a £12m midfield player,

Every penny of the Lescott fee was spent on the playing squad, so how is that a precedent for what we were talking about here mate???

This will be the going rate from now on for any player with a decent reputation and CL experience and who's still young. We cant escape those prices.

You're probably right Dave, the incremental TV cash will have an inflationary effect on the market on these shores. It's going to make worldwide scouting even more important if we're going to be looking for 'value' in the market.

I would blow our entire Fellaini transfer fee on a PROVEN international striker.

I think its time we additionally saw Barkley, McAleny, Vellios, Junior and Duffy fully integrated into the squad to add depth. We have all mentioned the ageing squad but there is some talented youngsters already on the books who should be given a chance imo.

We will envitably sign somone on a free or on loan, but with the versatility of Belg Kev, Barkley providing the replacement to Fellaini, plus the other youngsters with squad players like Naismith and Oviedo, I think we should be looking to finally end our goal-scoring misery.

Negredo for me.

Thoughts lads?

Whilst Negredo is a quality striker, there's no way we can spunk our entire budget on a player who turns 28 in August.
