So we get an extra 20m, we break even accounts wise, so theres 9m gone, we pay our players more money, theres 4m gone, which leaves us 7m, use some of it for debts, lick of paint round Goodison and bingo, we are left with around 2m for Bobby, GREAT STUFF.

The extra money on players, doesn't that constitute investment in the squad with the aim of improving the squad? And the fact that there was no longer a 9million pound loss means that there is no longer a need to sell an asset to cover such a loss, which means more money to spend on something other than covering a loss if an asset is sold.

We've been through the debt reduction stuff, they don't have previous for making premature repayments and reducing long-term debt, on the contrary our debt has increased when our revenues have increased through bigger TV deals.

We obviously differ in opinion, but I can't see how spending an extra 60million pound on the club over the next three years (which is more than what we would have got from 3 consecutive years of Champions League qualification) will make 'no difference'.

Exactly, Essex Blue isnt taking into account the loses we make, the current debt were in. If he thinks were just gonna use this new money coming in to put towards the transfer kitty then he's living in cloud cuckoo land!.

Were in debt to the tune of 40-50 million by all accounts, probably more and were/was making loses every year and yet he thinks this new money wouldnt of gone towards servicing any of that!.

It's been reported that wanyama ( think that's how you spell it) has failed to agree terms with Southampton after 12 million bid was accepted personally with fellaini going I think we should storm in there tie up a deal if possible and still leave a chunk of change for a amc.... Just a taught!!

Why don't you quote me on that, rather than having to resort to changing my argument in order to support your's?

The extra revenue will STOP the losses, which is a major, major benefit, and we won't start to incur losses again until we find a way of spending a MINIMUM of an extra 60million over the next three years. Nobody knows for sure how that extra money is going to be divided up, but the board have absolutely no previous history of making premature debt repayments to our long-term debt which is relatively small and perfectly manageable, not least because it will have very little benefit to the club if they did, especially if it is at the expense of strengthening the team. Your prediction that they will do so, will be their first instance of doing so.

I happen to think we have some money, our "prudence" in saving on players wages, selling players and "banking" the money will give us this, sure this extra income will be very welcome, to the overall benefit of the Club, you would assume.

And its possible we will spend some actual money, this Summer at least.

I look forward to being wrong that we wont see wholesale purchases.

As regarding Fellaini, im fairly sure the Club and the player are awaiting bids, theres no rush, everybody knows if its 23.55 on the 31st August, we always sell.

if we spunked £12 mil on this clown whilst the likes of Strootman, Capoue and Fer are out there I will hunt Martinez down

I'm sure there was a specific one off reason why we made a 9M loss on last accounts. Our normal loss is usually around 4/5M before any sales etc. Our debt is relatively low compared to most, it's manageable and the board have nothing to gain by decreasing it and paying some of it off. The debt will only be settled on sale of the club and will be incorpareted into any sale price (well should be)...

So the Tv money should make a HUGE difference to us as a club, maybe not in terms of playing with the big boys because they obviously have more money anyway plus this TV money too. But in terms of will NOT lose money every year. We will not HAVE to sell if we chose not too And there will be some kitty available for transfers each season, even if only around 10M...imagine moyes had this the last 5 yrs.

In regards to fellaini I'm sure I read with his release clause it's only valid between certain times. ie not the last moments of transfer windows. Would be nice to see him stay but if he goes there's plenty who could be brought in with that cash. Obviously Barkley and i think lundstrum also could well be part of the squad next season so were perhaps not quite as short in CM as we think loosing nev and Hitz.

We still need another CM, Gibson cant play a full season, Osman is 32.

Exactly right. Last season demonstrated that we had inadequate cover for our first eleven, and we've LOST players since then. If Gibson, Felli and Osman are our three starting central midfielders (obviously one primarily defensive, one box-to-box and one mostly advanced), then Barkley is our only cover with any real pedigree.

Factor in the question of whether Felli's staying or not, the fact that Osman is really on his last legs and neither Osman nor Gibbo can cover all three of those central midfield spots, and the need for CM reinforcements is obvious.

I would imagine two signings in this area of the pitch would be the bare minimum, with us sending Barkley out on loan if we get three or four in. Fer, De Guzman and Honda would be a good list, except the price tag for all three would probably top £20m.
