Think pienaar may become a CM player under Martinez because I can really see him playing more a 4-3-3 especially at home. If fellaini stays I think we need 1 more CM. As you rightly say gibbo won't put in a full season so fellaini could end up playing 20 games in his posistion. Think Gibson fellaini Osman Barkley Fer lundstrum and pienaar would be fine. Obviously if fellaini goes 2 would be needed.

Interesting, since starting this poll almost half of the 200+ of you who voted have opted for Leroy Fer. However, one person who is not a fan is Johan Cruyff.

Johan Cruijff: 'This European Championship U21 has made clear that of this Oranje u21, not one is ready to go abroad. Not one.' (AD)

To be honest, while Cruijff is undeniably one of the all-time masters (both as player and coach), 9 times out of 10 interviews he's criticizing players. Notoriously miserable.

May I just remind you that Ross Barkley is 20 in December, look around the footballing world for players who have done well in recent years from their Youth Academies and when they started playing for their side on a consistent basis.

Jack Wilshere - 19
Wayne Rooney - 16
Luke Shaw - 17
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 18
Ben Davies - 19

Now is his perfect chance to replace Fellaini, I'm not saying that we shouldn't get backup in case something was to happen to Ossie and Gibbo - but I don't think Honda will appreciate coming from a CL club to sit on the bench.

Still looks very raw though mate. I wanted Moyes to use him more because, as you say, he's way behind where he should be at 20 years of age game-time wise - for someone with his ability.

Agree on the Pienaar playing more infield sentiment.

F*cker bandies about everywhere like he's on Pandemic and is noticeably shagged come the 70 minute mark, attacking or left centre mid to keep close to Baines could be a plan?

To be fair to Barkley he did get a horrible injury a few years ago which effectively took away a year of his development.
