Villa have improved. They have a decent side of fast quick players. And added some quality in digne and coutinho in this window. They will finish top half easy. Maybe there is a difference between average and bang average. We need to play like we did second half from minute one. Intensity was good and changes ferguson made made a difference. 2 man midfield was his call today and I wouldnt agree with that.
Dcl and mina should have scored those chances. They will with confidence. Ferguson will bring that. He might not be the long term plan and that's fair enough.

There‘s only ONE thing I can defend from today’s shambles! And that’s taking Gomes off.

We know he’s slow & can’t tackle. He was on a yellow & had made a couple more clumsy challenges. He looked nailed on for a 2nd yellow.

I expected he’d be subbed at HT.

I think he was 3 players off. Needed a 3 man midfield. Our squad isnt anywhere good enough for 2 man. So for me it was 4,3,3 today from off. Right back is totally up for question. Patterson hopefully is the future. Today I would have gone for coleman. (Best of a woeful option) mina, godfrey, the Ukrainian kid. Doucoure,allan who was fit enough to start, gomes. And up top richie and gray who both can work back with dcl.
