Would've been easy enough for them to do customisation at kick-offs similar to set-pieces though (e.g. press down for one player etc.)

Ahh i see, most teams use the one player from what I've seen so should be an option in the game

I saw that one someone's YouTube video, I can't understand that at all. It is probably governed by poor software that always puts you in an away kit or third kit, when you are not at home. They should just let you pick the kit to get round it.

I do think they'll introduce it again in the next edition and increase it, or maybe even release some DLCs.

But generally I get FIFA just to kill some spare time in the event I have it.

I can't really dedicate loads to it but it's the only time I ever really spend money on games (well, in fact, I think the last game I got that wasn't FIFA was GTA5, so that was what, 3 years ago?)

Will start a career mode though I think. Will probably do one as Everton, and then also a foreign club. I did a Sevilla one on 16 so may go with that again - they're always an enjoyable side to play with. Can challenge for top four in LaLiga easily enough, and make a good run of it in Europe as well.

DLC would be cool, either a second season or get to play the first season again, as Gareth Williams instead of Alex Hunter and see the story from another perspective. Also in FIFA 18 you could have the World Cup included as part of The Journey.

I reckon it's defo coming. Some will want to go on with Hunter and I'm sure EA will be willing to oblige for a fee!

I like the 'false 9' option for strikers on this year's game.

I played 3-5-2 in my game as Everton vs Palace - as I didn't play Baines so put Funes in for extra protection down that flank.

Played Bolasie and Rom as an auxiliary front two, and put Bolasie as 'false 9' in the instructions, but also told him to 'drift wide' as well.

So basically he kept dropping back slightly but also out to the wing, meaning that Barkley (who I was playing on the left-side of a central three in midfield) had the room to drive into.

Worked a treat of my first goal, Bolasie to Barkley into Rom.

Second was a counter with Bolasie putting it on a plate for Rom.

Bolasies rating seems abit low. Been crap when I've played online. Mirallas is nice and fast on it though which is good!!

Getting tonked online, with people watching replay of snide goals again n again is so frustrating
 
Has anyone got any tips for tackling? If I play on professional or above, the tackle button is seemingly useless, the person I am controlling either lunges in, a long time after I have pressed circle, or doesn't do anything at all. I tried jockeying but my player just looks like he is squatting to take a dump and the opposition just glided past him :mad:

It's probably down a bit to OCD haha but I do usually edit the ratings. Never by much or making players loads better, but IMO there's no way Mirallas is that quick for example, so I put his pace down a bit, whereas I upped a few of Bolasie's stats. Think they're both 79 rated for me now.

Personally, I think it's a fair reflection. I do also acknowledge it's a bit sad haha but I watch enough of a lot of players to know how EA overate/under-rate so many.

In comparison though, I'll alter the other sides as well if, IMO, their ratings are way out. It just makes for a better experience when playing against the CPU or in career mode (not so much online as it's mostly down to the actual player of the game).

My best advice form playing on world class is to run alongside the player you're wishing to tackle. As long as you're not in a dangerous area of the pitch that'll allow you to go shoulder to shoulder with the oppo and then you can get in a tackle.
 
People don't seem to understand how overalls are judged. It's based off their other attributes and isn't always a reflection of how good a player is in the game... unless they changed something this year or last ?

Look at Gueye, the guy is an absolute beast in Fifa 17, I'm wasting people online with him in the middle of the park, can close people down like an absolute champ... he's way better than mccarthy and barry and yet has a worse overall.
 
started player career mode yesterday after it took about 20 hours to download.

loaned out, but happy with Ipswich Town... founded 1878, wear blue, called the Blues and, to my amusement, The Tractor Boys. Got to play a derby against Naisy in Norwich's new horrible 3rd kit.

does suck the first year with a user's favorite club is all but guaranteed to be elsewhere with 40+ matches to slog through. hell, least year's version even Bundesliga2 1860 Munich sent me off to Scotland for a year.

at a glance of Chilean standings, seems Everton de Vina del Mar was left off despite being promoted. was going to try and start a player career with them to see where it went. (And see if the game gives you transfer offers other than just the same big clubs over and over again.)

might do a managerial career with Dortmund, for giggles and to deny the rs Pulisic.
 
Just wondering did people download latest squads before they started? Because normally fifa updates the rosters again after the disk so the likes of rom are 84 not 83 after updates
