Final game at goodison.

Absolutely. This isn't about Paul McCartney or whether he loves or doesn't give a toss about Everton. This is about brand management: associating ourselves with pop royalty in this way can only be to our benefit in terms of profile. With no disrespect to all locals on Merseyside, Paul McCartney is more famous than Liverpool all on his own.

We could at least have him strum a few notes at Harrsion from the sideline: "Get back, Get back, Get back to where you once belonged!"

That answer's called being too 'kin famous for your own health...man can't win, especially on that topic. When push comes to shove, only he knows the answer. I can't imagine being him, I cherish my privacy too much. Instead of talking about his musical accomplishments, his football allegiances are being called in to question...and he has to ponder how his answer will affect how he's treated in his hometown; I mean WTF. I don't wish 95% of the fame game on anyone.

Mad that people are against one of the biggest and most famous musicians of all time, and from the city, playing at goodison.

Personally I can't see it happening but if it did it's incredible. It would really highlight goodison and Everton across the world.

Once the final whistle goes I don’t think many people would want to sit through something like that.

People will want to be on the pitch, on the concourse drinking with their mates for the last time at the ground, or wanting sing or hear Everton songs.

Paul McCartney and his songs, as good as they are bare no relation to Everton.

It should all be about the club and the fans that night.

That was just another venue / concert on his tour wasn’t it or was it specifically for Capital of Culture? Seems an odd place to play as opposed to town/the waterfront etc if was for Capital of Culture
Yes for capital of culture. Only played a small handful of concerts 08. My guess it was the biggest available venue. Waterfront ect not viable back then and easier to control (they’d never consider GP). Anyway, back on topic, I’d say it’s very unlikely at this stage if there’s nothing more than vague rumours.

THANK YOU

People should push that idea, allows fans without tickets to enjoy atmosphere, if no event is held, I think it will be chaos. Pubs will be packed, you'll struggle to even get into pub. Having event in park means people can enjoy Beer in sun, and enjoy atmosphere.
I emailed the Friedkin Group and got a response to say that it would be considered along with many other ideas to make the last day special...it needs to be special so they better hurry up and release the plans 😂

From reading other comments here the best day and time for the final game is surely the 5.30 slot on the Saturday. Even though for me personally having a wedding that weekend the Monday be better but that's me being selfish

Absolutely this. Seems some people would rather toss themselves off in the concourse listening to Z Cars on repeat.
