I don't disagree with this reality mate and tbh, I don't too-much-fret over it. I sincerely hope Martinez does extremely well, since such concludes that our team (of which he is managerial steward) does well. My fear remains however , that we over-continue to conflate ambition with ability. Time will tell, I guess.
If Mr Moshiri has the ambition people say he does, he won't sit and watch an average Manager waste his money when he can afford the best.
This is the best thing for us long term he coming to Everton. No more comfort zone for the Manager and players.

I did notice at Villa, Martinez was shouting at players more than usual, think his hoop is going slightly knowing he's massively under performed the last 2 seasons.

We had to improve on last seasons finish - so if we make the top 7 i will be happy as its progress, just wish Martinez had noticed a few of the things holding us back earlier.

Am not arsed about the cups unless we win them - you don't get a trophy for the semi finals.

No, but you get a jolly good day out or weekend away in that London.

Better to make it to the semi final than exit the Cup in an earlier round.....if for no other reason you will have seen EFC win four games en route ;)

The honeymoon is over for Bobby now.

The Everton job has suddenly got a whole lot more pressurised.

The noveau regime will not provide the stress free environment Moyes enjoyed for eleven years.

I really hope Bob is up to it.

I don't think we should set a "target".

Just win as many matches as we can and finish as high up the table as we can...;)

I'd be content with 5th-7th, would absolutely love to make Europe.

I feel qualifying for Europe would give us a much greater pulling players to sign and would give me more confidence in all of Lukaku, Stones and Barkley staying.

Win the FA Cup and I'm not bothered where we finish.

If we don't win the cup then 7th or higher should be our aim. A run of 5 or 6 wins over 8 or 9 games and we'd fly up the league due to how inconsistent everyone has been this season.

The buzz around the club at the minute can hopefully rub off onto the players when we're at home now.

Was thinking the same thing actually. Everton may not be the Managerial 'career' option it was once considered to be.

I think & hope that Bobby has what it takes, but it's time to put it all together on match day & prove your worth. Always wondered if Moyes had it in him to manage a club with money but I don't think his time at Manure was long enough to judge. Maybe Mark Hughes is a more apt comparison?

I think Moshy should be introduced to the fans at Goodison after the players have entered the pitch. They need to feel what Goodison's faithful feels when he walks out there!

I am hoping he is introduced to the crowd.

I am actually going to take my seat a bit earlier than usual in case I miss owt :)

Season target this should be.

We play in three competitions after all.

Two good cup runs to SF stage at least + top half finish should be our target now. Both within our grasp.

Another season of what could of been....Swansea away 2 points dropped, Bournemouth away 2 points dropped, Chelsea away 2 points dropped, Norwich away 2 points dropped. Thats 8 points we should have now that would put us right in the mix for top 4. Everton that
