Financial Fair Play investigation

Newcastle have the perfect Blueprints to work from, Our biggest achievement in the premiership will be for the benefit of others.
Any club with new major investment and looking to build/Restructure to try and bridge the gap with the big boys, will possess a handbook on Everton's approach as a main commodity of how not to do things.
The premier league will probably even use us as a learning tool and an example to others..

The only club that won't use it will of course be us, the creators...
The saying is now, not what would Everton do to.., see what that mess have done.

So to sum up the day; we've been deducted either 6, 9, or 12 points, we will certainly be relegated, and we are facing oblivion.

The premier league hate us, the media hate us, all other clubs hate us, our owner and board hate us, and most of our own supporters hate us.

Just another day in the life of being an Everton fan then. 🤷‍♂️
Well just to see what worse could happen to us, have a look at the saga of Malaga on the Spanish League.
Full story is on the BBC football page.
10 years ago they were in the CL semi final, had billionaire owner.
Fell foul of the authorities, points reduction and relegation.
Now heading rapidly towards the 3rd division.
Surely us couldn't happen to us.

We won't get a points deduction.

Our hearing and decision will be done before City's. IF they slap us with a points deduction...Man City's punishment will be far worse.

The league isn't going to allow that to happen to their brand.
City can afford a much worse punishment.

If we get a 9 point deduction it'll likely mean relegation next season, which could have huge long-term repercussions for us. We could drop down to League One and be left with a £700m stadium and Alex Iwobi on 100k a week until 2028.

City, on the other hand, even a 40 point deduction would just mean they miss out on Europe for a season. So what?

If they feel they have to, the Premier League will throw us under the bus because...
a) They don't want to outside regulation.
and
b) They can't lay a realistic glove on City.

With a full pre season etc I think Dyche would keep us up even with a 9point deduction. We survived last year by five points in the end. 38 games + a full pre season it's not a foregone conclusion we'd be gone.
I think it would be a little more complicated than that.

If we start on - 9 then psychologically it's an up hill battle from the off. Completely different prospect.

There might be fines and we'll be restricted in our spending.

Players won't want to sign for us.

Surely it would be in ours and City's interests to share our cases and know how. It'd be like a dry run for City's team.

That would be the total opposite of a 'class action'

iirc, City got their 'result' by throwing £50 Million worth of lawyers at it.
Will they let us piggy back their wealth out of the goodness of their heart 🤔

I agree with this. It'd mean a target of 50 points which really isn't a huge ask - if we are still allowed to make transfers. I don't think this current squad is capable of 50 points.

Which is a pittance in the grand scheme of things. Even to Everton that ought to be a drop in the ocean, after all we continue to spend tens of millions of pounds each season on truly terrible players. What will Maupay cost us over the course of his contract... around £25-30m including transfer fee? £50m would be an utter bargain to get out of this situation!
