Baffles me the level of paranoia about the league wanting to ‘scapegoat’ us. The rules, tolerances and our own accounts are there for all to see. Like the PL is arsed with us enough to target us

It’s actually laughable and incredibly childish. Speculate about refs and VAR all you want, but with something like this where there’s actual hard factual evidence that we’ve broken the rules, it’s stunning how many people just don’t get it or refuse to be a grown up and look at how badly ran our club is as a business.

Think he meant owners generally - and if we get slapped and become a cautionary tale - maybe to use an example a certain up and coming turkish embassy affiliated club might think twice in the future trying to break the scab six cartel.

Moshiri, yes, but there’s plenty who wouldn’t.

But if they were genuinely fussed about sustainability there are plenty of ways they could ensure that without hamstringing teams whose owners want to push to challenge the establishment clubs.

Just off the top of my head, one would be to say you can spend what you want, but at all times you have to put 5x your average annual loss into a holding account as “insurance”.

But they choose to do it in a way that massively increases the chances that the big clubs will remain the big clubs

We've suddenly garnered a slither of optimism and suddenly they're out to squash us back down, probably had an emergency meeting to get the legal teams all on the case and find it on specifically us.

We have inept leadership but does that mean that the current rules aren’t weighted in favour of the Sky 5 or 6?
In fact if it wasn’t for this nonsense P&S rules and Moshiri had been permitted to continue spending as he saw fit, he might have put stuff right by now.

It’s textbook. You use a pointless club like us to set the standard so other clubs get in line. Forget targeting us specifically. They just want an easy target in general. One that can’t fight back

We are. Every club’s accounts are public for you to look up if you want. Doesn’t matter if you want to buy into it or not, the facts are what they are. P&S allows you to operate at a loss of no more than £105m over a 3 year period. Our loss over that period at end of last financial year was £372m. No other club is breaching P&S apart from allegedly City who are also under investigation.
