Financial Fair Play investigation

Our owner is going nowhere and despite being a disappointment generally, without him we have no stadium and our future would be a challenge to say the least.
As for the board ,they are still here cowering in their self imposed bunker mentality like the abject cowards they have proven to be. There is currently no hint of their departure.
Our medium future is currently a shade of brown rather than bright,

I agree, without our owner, no stadium and we’d have been stuffed. The Board is a joke, with Bill continuing to play with his train set and the massively overpromoted DBB showing why she should have stayed doing the EiTC role. I’ve no idea what Sharpy is supposed to be doing. This hiding from the fans is the last straw really, if they had anything about them they would have resigned instead of clinging on while they oversee this shambles…..

1 charge brought by an organisation who told every other club that there was nothing to see here.

Forgive me for not subscribing to the view that the sky is falling in.

Our problem is on the pitch and reaching 36-38 points this season. That'll be the end of our woes if we get those 10-12 points.
Spot on !

Moshiri will have to get people in to run the club as though it was back in the Moyes/Kenwright era. Hand to mouth. We've now got a gaffer than can work with those restraints. Sell players we can, bring in and gamble on talent, promote youth for the next 2 years until the stadium is done.

Which is funny to spend £700million only to come back full circle to 2004.
It goes much deeper than that though.
Our commercial department, if we indeed have anything worthy of that title , has been relentlessly poor for the past 30years, for instance.
Scouting , coaching , academies every aspect of this club needs resetting or remodelling.
Arsenal modernised the club , creating and filling new roles towards the end of Wengers reign,( in fact it was this that precipitated his departure), they are now reaping the rewards.
Under Kenwright the club had stagnated with little or no money invested into any aspect of the club we have become outdated and stagnated into little more than a living museum of a bygone era.
It has parallels with how the once leading industries in Britain failed to invest in R&D and became archaic relics of past successes and were surpassed by newer more modern firms.
Moshiri putting vast sums of money directly into the club was like installing an Airbus engine into a Wright biplane , it was never going to fly because the structure couldn’t support it.
We urgently need radical change.

A more suitable punishment for clubs in breach would be sanctions on the people who have actually caused it, like being forced to sell or partly sell the club, or being forced to change board members etc
You would have a lot less people buying clubs, and you would have clubs hardly spending at all.
You can’t force someone to sell a club, you wouldn’t have enough people interested in buying.

There is precedent for forced sales if regulations are broken, perhaps not in football clubs but it does happen.

I don't think there is going to be a shortage of offers to buy prem clubs any time soon either.

I'd agree with that under Kenwright who just loved to float water and never made in roads on any minor successes we had.

However i don't agree with that now as our commercial deals are the best outside the "big six" as we're deemed "best of the rest"
In order to build on that, we needed to perform better on the field. This is where we've massively bombed due to the structures in place and belief in the wrong people.

Now IMO, commercial is going to stall/decrease as we're not a draw due to our 2nd relegation battle. We're going to have to rely on the manager just like we did with Moyes to overperform and punch above its weight, sell to buy, and hopefully balance the books.

The premier league has to respect CAS, or the legal framework it operates under. Its contracts are governed partially by CAS.

CAS is under Swiss judication while the PL as private company is under England and Wales. Organisations can freely signed up to CAS (like UEFA and FIFA both have HQs in Switzerland). The PL hasn't, the LaLiga hasn't and the Serie A hasn't. Btw. the Bosman ruling was about FOM (one of the corner-stone of the European Union).

No sympathy there then.

Could we take it to the Hague or the Supreme Court though?

It doesn't.

CAS is an arbitration service in essence. The Premier League is not signed up to CAS and has a different arbitration procedure. The Premier League's contracts are not governed by CAS.

I believe that if are going to attempt to replicate the days of Moyes without changing the entire workings of the club then we will have reached the end of the club I grew up supporting.
Whatever emerges out of the other side of another period of absolute mediocrity comparable to the 11 lost years under Moyes will be a mere pale reflection of the club we used to be.
Maybe we have already passed that point.
I could endure another period of nothingness only if behind the scenes the club was revamping the way it is administered and organised throughout.
Every year we fail to compete for titles or trophies is another year our prestige diminishes and our way back grows longer , tougher and less likely.
During the Moyes years this club stagnated, they were a prolonged period of enforced atrophy overseen by a person unfit to be our custodian. A person who lacked any vision , who owned the club at a time when PL became the richest league in the world, when an unbroken stream of money passed through the club , and despite this some seasons we couldn’t afford the purchase of a single player!
Returning to those days with no attempt to improve the clubstructure is just abject acceptance of the finality of our decline.

Could we take it to the Hague or the Supreme Court though?
Man City has already taken its case with the Premier League to the High Court followed by the Appeal Court. They were then denied grounds to appeal to the Supreme Court and told to abide by the rules they signed up to.

Oh absolutely. He needs to reset and restruct.

But Im beginning to think that maybe his heart isn't in it to do that and just wants it sold preferably after the stadium
