Financial Fair Play investigation

I think P&S sending a club in to insolvency is a really bad look on the Premier League, being as the losses are covered at present. The very thing brought in to stop clubs going under is the one thing that is sinking our club..... Ironic really.

Which shows it is not fit for purpose......
We will protect you from a lack of sustainability by destroying you and making your corner of the world poorer, solid.

Humour me.....if it’s an independent body or panel that is reviewing our financial situation then how could they deduct points or fine us as we are not under any jurisdiction to them? I assume they can’t take the action themselves but can recommend that the EPL take the action. If the EPL did that surely Everton’s legal defence would be that the EPL has overseen everything we’ve done the last 4-5 years and so they are equally guilty. And why would the EPL go after a Club who’s every transaction has been overseen by themselves?
It would also seem churlish of the accountants to ridicule the numbers if they’ve signed the accounts off

Wrong thread for that mate

The P&S rules were not put in place to stop teams going out of business. They were put in place because the established champions league clubs didn’t like the fact any old billionaire could come along, buy up a club and turn them into the next Chelsea or Man City. By just throwing money at it.

Have a day off fellas. It’s the weekend. The clubs accountants are in Marbella with cocktails with them little umbrellas in and pissing their pants laughing at you lot discuss finances.

that makes sense actually, see as everyone is now talking about P&S - the cruise company that sacked their employees

Maybe instead of points deductions for financial rule breaking we could have a points reward for clubs that stick within the agreed rules.

No need to be or feel like victims.

The reason we’re in the mud is due to the sanctions on our sugar daddy during the Ukraine war.

Lost about half a billion in sponsorship revenue. Don’t be manipulated by narcissists who are want to be Center stage

A more suitable punishment for clubs in breach would be sanctions on the people who have actually caused it, like being forced to sell or partly sell the club, or being forced to change board members etc
While what you say has some merit, it's easier to punish a club with deductions, embargo etc than it is to punish the owners. A prime example of that was SWFC v EFL 2019 although the EFL played an important part in that mess.

Interesting test case and one to watch is Birmingham. Charged with receiving unauthorised funding and or control by Maxco earlier this season- a big case still rumbling on in the background is whether a Cambodian diplomat has secretly controlled/owned them from 2016 if not longer. I expect Birmingham would get absolutely hammered in the case of the 2nd but maybe it would dislodge their owners too.

As to owners taking the rap, perhaps the Independent Regulator would see this kick in down the line.
