Financial Fair Play investigation

My question is- how do we ever reset from this? Our losses are so much that will we ever make enough to wipe the losses out and be able to do anything.
It’s a 3 year rolling cycle only so the past losses automatically drop off. We just need to replace the losses dropping off with results that are better. This season’s results will replace a heavy loss so if we’re anywhere close to break even we will have made huge progress.

Not really. We'd barley spent under Moyes and had a good run with TV money finishing in the top 10 most years, and selling players for decent money.

Martinez finished 5th, 11th, 12th. League and FA Cup semi final, Europa last 16. Sold Fellaini and Naismith for a total of £50+mill. Didn't have anyone on £100k a week. So there was a little kitty. Spent between £30-£50mill each of his 3 seasons.

Wasn't until Moshiri came in when wage to turnover hit 90%, multiple players on £100k a week, £300+mill spend on transfers.

As a manager he benefited from Moyes' defensive core and added flair to it. 2nd season he got his feet under the table to play more his "style" which ended up being ball possession, lack of stamina, and a leaky defence where you'd have to score 3 to win a game.

He's a very good cup manager and is probably more suited to international management IMO
Martinez wi th Moshiri money, thanks for the breakdown too. Martinez combined with proper Moshiri cash would have been interesting to see...some managers at clubs via timing whatever have cash jusf through luck or I dunno but we have similar.

I would fancy Nigel Pearson to do a lot better if he had Lee Johnson's budget and perhaps vice versa although we had some good times. A combination of factors means he really does not.

Moyes with Moshiri cash FFP permitting an even bigger what if although he was possibly a bit cautious at times?

Also in the event of an overspend verdict being reached, such a verdict would see the prior numbers reset to the max so £35m or above would fall to £35m and anything below £35m would remain just that.

Scenario A:
Prior two years £30m and £50m losses (in FFP terms).

Becomes £30m and £35m

Scenario B:
Prior two years £35m and £10m losses (in FFP terms).

Becomes £35m and £10m

Scenario C:
Prior two years £37m and say £36m (in FFP terms).

Becomes £35m and £35m.

That is so a club doesn't get penalised for the same overspend twice or more in the event of a guilty verdict.

Clearly if a profit then it's profit plus whatever. Only gets reset to £35m if the FFP loss exceeds.

The new stadium will help as turnover should increase a fair bit which gives us more money to play with. We need to learn from our mistakes though and not give out long term contracts to players we then can't shift.

indeed i read some years ago that Man Utd were like 10 times gaining more revenue on Matchdays than us.
which is not surprising if you see how many corporate boxes around the stadium they have while we only have the section in the Main stand.
and also hopefully we fill the stadium with hopefully 5.000 - 10.000 more fans than currently each game

Whats that got to do with what I asked?
You asked how we get out of the hole, that would be the first place I started.

Not saying its easy to do, but we do need to stop giving huge contracts to players with no hunger.

The cross we bear is the wages to income ratio, that somehow, needs to change.
