Financial Fair Play investigation

We’re guilty as sin.

Kieran Maguire. That feller has way too much to say for himself for my liking. That's the sound of a feller who likes the sound of his own voice and seems to be basking in a bit of publicity he's managed to drum up around this Everton referal.

Alarm bells started to ring on him when he got involved on TalkSport prognosticating on what punishment Everton would get when asked by Jim White. Now any professional and cautious man would have straight batted that hack question all day. But he decided he'd be railroaded into a response of the sensational variety to please the host and his listeners.

Any authourity that feller laid claim to went out the window at that moment. And now he's continuing to try and make a name for himself by revealing private conversations he had with Everton so he can boost some poxy podcast...all the while saying he has 'nothing against Everton and I want the best for them'.

That's an utter spanner right there. Take no notice to what that self-promoting idiot has to say.

And WTF is PED giving the oxygen of publicity to him and his dodgy views for...and then backing him up?

Un'kinreal some people. Talk about not being able to read the room...which underlines for me that some Evertonians cant see the wood for the trees anymore on this.

I know the commission doesn't equate to a law court, but it's inappropriate and unprofessional for "experts" to be openly commentating and speculating in the media about the punishment the commission is or isn't likely to hand down, assuming the club are found to be in breach of regulations in the first place. The case has to be proven and the defence heard.

I'm very concerned about what may happen, but we can't do anything about it and have to wait for due process. Our business is steering clear of the threat of relegation and everything else is secondary to that.

A bit of messenger shooting going on , I see.
Maguire's job is presumambly to stick to the facts? He's an academic isn't he? WTF is he doing revealing private conversations with Everton FC officials on social media? Do his employers at Liverpool University think that's a good luck for them? Does Maguire teach his students that a good way of getting on in any profession is to put their private conversations with organisations in the public domain?

There is no such thing as an In The Know when it comes to what's happening with Moshiri, the board, sale of shares etc Everton is a very tight ship.
You might get team news, but at the higher levels away from the players, nothing.
Well people on here and those that write their articles/post tweets/podcast speak like they know the full ins and outs of whats happening at the club. The reality is they know as much as us. I stay well clear of most of what these Everton 'Experts', 'Influencers', 'podcasters' say.

There's a narcissistic element to anyone from the fan base pushing themselves into the spotlight to speak about our club and that i just can't warm too.

Yeah it's all about likes, re tweets and look at me style coverage. Look at the sale to Moshiri, who was talking about that before it happened?
One of the problems Evertonians have is the wall of silence these days, nobody is being told anything

It is clearly evident that our club is in a very poor position in almost every aspect both on and off the pitch.
It is that which concerns me and attempting to smear every commentator who voices a negative observation of our current predicament only serves to misdirect that concern.
By all means disagree with message but state what, in your opinion , is incorrect in what is stated rather than attempting to discredit the bearer.

The less we hear from the idiots in charge of running our club until they are gone the better. Eveytime they open our their mouths its the same old sound bites and embarrassing drivel.

It's 100% proven to be true.
Moshiri selling the club widely reported by ITKs and even Keysey which then got refuted by the club, leaking that MSP are still interested when ITKs say that it's dead in the water, the board assuring everyone we are not in FFP trouble whilst ITKs like the esk have us well over the 105 million mark and the auditor change are just 4 very recent examples of ITKs being correct and the board/Moshiri being extremely wrong.

Ask yourself who's really doing the smearing here. Is it the job of an academic to go after a football club like he is? Do you really think a man who holds a position at Liverpool University should be dragging private conversations with a Liverpool organisation like Everton into the public domain? Simple questions that you dont seem to want to address...

His employers should be looking at his situation VERY closely. Imagine he was doing this to LFC. His feet wouldn't touch the floor as he was turfed out of that university.

Even worse than him though are a lot of Everton supporters who want to amplify the message against Everton that's coming out through the media because they want desperately to see the hierarchy fall...even if that means us falling too.

There's a special place in hell reserved for those people if Everton are punished severely by this commission.

Like it or not, we are in a position where if you're not with us you're against us. There's is no middle ground here. You either close ranks behind Everton or you're on the outsude of the tent pissing in.

I have nothing but contempt right now for any Everton supporter - especially in social media - who are fuelling these attacks on Everton FC when we can least afford it.

On one level I agree, otoh I'd say speculation is inevitable. It happened with past FFP cases by third parties- unsure about revealing private convos though, that's not generally a positive although possibly clubs need to be a bit thicker skinned too in the sense of not getting too worked up about auditors changing being reported especially when true. What exactly was their grievance?

We don’t need to create problems by selling Pickford. I could see the argument for Onana if we’re desperate for cash and we got offered unbelievable money for him.

Why buy promising players but sell Branthwaite. Seems counterintuitive
The aim always has to be minimal disruption of the quality playing staff we have with maximising a balance of actual/accounting profit where we can through one key sale - that we likely be either Pickford or Onana….I suspect the latter…..we should hold on to Branthwaite absolutely….I’m just not sure the club will have much of a choice

Not the slightest bit of ITK info there at all, widely reported in the media stuff yes, ITK no
