Financial Fair Play investigation

Let’s not forget the club believe they have worked hand in glove with the authorities over the finances. Not sure the nature of this alleged breach is even in the public domain yet is it?
Maguire and his ilk undeniably set a tone and narrative that can (and has been) easily latched onto.
Basically he feeds the vultures.

They've still been called in. There is still continued losses and massive debts and it would appear some outstanding loans that have triggered both the commission and now MSP's departure. None of that narrative has been set by Maguire or any other commentator. They have been set entirely by the mismanagement of the club. If you dont want the vultures, it's probably best not to present them with road kill.

Read the room? You're guilty of not even reading the thread.....
Again, you misrepresent me and are making stuff up because you have no argument. Yes, saying the club is going to "hell in a handcart" obviously means I'm deliriously happy. By the same logic can I assume that your continued attack on the messenger while all around us is collapsing, means you're happy with and support the board and status quo?

You're the one who tagged me with your irrelevant non-argument into a thread about FFP/P&S. Grisly history of abusing the memory of the dead (one insensitive tweet)/ pseudo expert (runs a university department that specialises in the subject)? You're more obsessed with this fella than you are with the actual perpetrators of the gross mismanagement that he and several others have commentated on. Rome is burning and you're creating this distraction of irrelevant nonsense on the thread that's supposed to be about one of its causes. He's the one with the qualifications, the multiple books and articles published on the subject and he's the one who they'll be asking to comment.... and he's certainly not the one who caused any of the issues. They tried to silence him and you've repeatedly advocated the same.... yet it's me who hasn't read the room?
I have no argument...apart from the fact (remember them...they're the things you failed to produce in your claim that the club had organised a media pile on Maguire) that this feller has personalised his 'analysis' of Everton to make it about him versus them, and he has; and on national television told everyone his theory of Everton's charge that has them up in front of a PL commission was based on ill-informed gossip, and it was. That's what happens when people who should remain in academic departments try and crossover into the world of entertainment and punditry as they seek to add it to their CV - they leave the rigour of the academic community behind and spice up claims in order to be asked back.

And I also have no argument when underlining this feller's social media behaviour in which he has made the most disgraceful of remarks about an event that would have 100% had him sacked by his employer if that tweet had been made about Liverpool FC...something you choose to portray as "one insensitive tweet". He shat his kecks on Sunday night and ran for cover abandoning his twitter account for fear the issue would snowball and the MSM would pick it up and hand his employers with a decision to make.

That's the cut of the man you're willing to defend here.

By the way, I know Rome is burning...we all do. We dont need someone like Maguire to inform us of that though do we?.

I never claimed anything other than it was classic Kenwright to stiffle his critics, as has happened repeatedly during his tenure.... this they attempted again and it backfired. His original comments predate the club's reaction and there have been a mixture of positive and negative comments from him ever since that you're ignoring. The only vendetta is your own.

Evidently you do need to be informed by him, unfortunately you don't like anyone else saying it.

It's all part of the master plan lads...

You couldn't make it up. Shorter time frames introduced because Everton weren't punished last season ( i.e the "Everton rule")

But it won't apply to Man City or Chelsea as they have more breaches over a longer time;

What about the Manchester City charges and the Chelsea investigation?

Would similar cases be dealt with inside 12 weeks? No – in “exceptional circumstances”, such as alleged multiple breaches over multiple years, that deadline may not apply. City have been charged with 115 rule breaches over 14 years, while the investigation into Chelsea covers the period from 2012 to 2019.

Expecting a points deduction.

Not because we deserve it, but because we are Everton and the PL want to make an example of us.
On the one hand I agree we always get the worst of it. On the other hand we have sold and sold to try and balance P&L since last summer and apparently the issue relates to tax on the stadium plus the EPL does everything it can not to have teams with points deducted (it looks bad and they dislike how it looks in the championship )so for that reason I think fine and at the worst a squad reduction.

I don’t buy the PL would “make an example” of us, unless the investigation brings up something really serious. It would be completely bare faced considering previous cases and the fact we have worked with the PL.

If we did cop serious penalty I would be challenging the league to standardise the profit and loss recording of player movement

I think a uniform system to record player movement basically a “profit on player movement” calculated by

Player sales

Less cost of player movement calculated by :

Opening player value (based on remaining contract of all players at start of reporting period)

Add

Purchases

Less

Closing player value at end of reporting period

All sales and purchases recorded on accrual method on date of transfer

This removes loopholes in amortising purchases over longer contracts like Chelsea or stockpiling players.

Anyway

I think our conduct since the investigation seems to be genuinely attempting to rectify the situation
