Financial Fair Play investigation

The PL have no clear guidelines on punishment as they're making it up as they go a long. The majority of major leagues and UEFA have fined clubs based on FFP.

The EFL however have clear and stringent guidelines and which involve points deduction and transfer bans. 12 points is the max for entering administration. 9 has been the max they've given for P&S.

So the journo is just making things up based off what's already been done.

The PL themselves don't have a clue what they're doing especially in our case they were complicit in allowing the club to continue transfers etc.

No one knows.
Basically its been 'job done' by the Telegraph today: publish the worst case scenario and standing back and getting the clicks.

I mean I could go back and trawl and find 6/7/8 Telegraph articles over the last 2 years on this Everton FFP issue and they'll all underline one thing: they haven't got a clue what's going one and will brazenly make stuff up to pretend they have the inside track.

Of course, you can't blame Everton supporters for reading it and speculating they're report is above board, but they're almost certainly flying a kite.

Exactly this.. Also I'd imigine that any points deduction will be suspended in any case.

Maybe that's a reason why this is leaked. When we get hit with a -3 or something, the fans would go 'phew at least it wasn't 12'
I also wouldn't be surprised if they're quite happy to push this big punishment in a particularly weak season, meaning they can be seen as being very firm with us and, assuming we survive, it's all forgotten about.

Wow......you must hold onto grudges longer than my Mrs!!!!! It's a bit ironic that the player you named was a typical waste of money signing which has got us into this crap. Fair play for your memory though.

It’s just a hit piece.

It says maximum of 12 points, not recommended 12 points. Could be suspended in any case.

We’ve worked with the PL throughout, they’ve sanctioned all our transfers for a while.

If they actively have a go at us they’ll look very silly.
Exactly this. It’s just a surprise it’s come from the Telegraph and not Matt Hughes. The key line in the report is ‘up to 12 points.’ That’s like on Police Interceptors when someone has been doing 120mph on the m62 after 10 pints and off their face on coke they say ‘a crime punishable with up to 5 years in prison and a £10,000 fine.’ Then at the end of the programme they say the actual punishment was 10 hours of community service and a 3 month driving ban.

That paper is a joke these days,it used to have a modicum of respect now it has columnists like Allison Pearson who just make stuff up,as you say clickbait

Would be the blind leading the blind over years.

Bit bad they're doing this while the club is also in mourning. I understand they have a job to do like, but come on.

Worse thing is, the City Case won't even get to court for the next 3-4 years.

Will this open the door for those 3 clubs mentioned a while ago to start legal process in regards to being relegated?

No.. they know they'd be laughed out of court.
"Everton breaking rules got us relegated"
"2 of you went down in one season so how could Everton breaking rules relegate 2 teams?"

Some of you clearly dont know how the legal system works. The prosecution pretty much ALWAYS reccomends the penalty, but uiltmately its the judge/panel to decide. Nothing to see here.
