Financial Fair Play investigation

The points are astounding to me in this thread of the hypocrisy of everyone in the media. "Can't punish the fans" "it's the owners, not the club", reminders of the Scab 6. Seriously, if we weren't skint the club really should be going on the offensive with all of this. Just a bunch of sycophants and boot lickers eveywhere towing the love in with whatever BIG club nonsense is the theme.

Nobody is arguing that the Super League wasn't a disgrace, but ultimately it's exactly what Everton did with the formation of the Premier League so constantly bringing it up just smacks of hypocrisy to me. I don't want to tempt fate, but the chances are we will get a slap on the wrist in the same way the "Big 6" did when they wanted to jump ship.
Teams get relegated out of the PL every year. Other teams get promoted to the PL every year. It's really not the same at all.

No.

The closed-shop Super League is not the same thing as the pyramid-preserving Premier League.

The shouts for a transfer ban - I don't reckon the PL would do us that sort of favour lol

FWIW, I'm not worried about a points deduction, this is a lot of speculative BS on the part of the media. What I think it does show is just how moribund the league is now and the coverage reflects that. Yes the media is full of koppites, yes stories of our woes are click bait for their dismal global fan-base, yes we're subject to woefully unprofessional official (so are most other teams) but there's no agenda to relegate Everton. The league is so dull and uncompetitive for most teams now the competition and its journalists need scandal and sensationalism to fill the void - its why they're so wedded to VAR.

No fan is responsible for the excesses of their owners. We can see this with the dire straights Leeds united found themselves in for instance.
It’s also the case we don't really know what we’ve been charged for and why it might be a problem. But we can all see the loses we’ve made. That our owners spent a fortune and made us worse only compounds their stupidity.
As such, I find the idea were being harshly treated really odd. We don’t even know what the issue is. Are we owned by incompetent people? Yes. So why would be surprised if they’ve screwed up massively?

The Man City whataboutery defence is superb.

Like a defence lawyer saying in court his client has only murdered one person compared to Dr Shipman.

Well yes, it's exactly like that. All murder sentences are not the same you know? Some are paroled after 15-20 years, others will never ever be released, and there's some that fall in between.

It's the fact that the authorities are trying to push us over a cliff for rules designed to stop clubs from dire financial consequences that makes me laugh.

If we do get the worst possible scenario (personally I don't think we will) these rules will be rewritten shortly afterwards to prevent this happening to other clubs and teams like Forest and Wolves will just get a stern talking to as maximum punishment. It's all so obvious it hurts.

Are they?
I mean, we might get off, we might get a £500k fine. We don’t know.

You’ve absolutley no basis for your claims that the rules will be rewritten.

And the idea that it’s bad that the league has rules to try to stop clubs getting into financial trouble is really odd. Of course the league don’t want it. Look at the trouble we’re in. Who’d want that? This isnt the leagues issue, this isn’t our issue, it’s the owner‘s issue.
