Financial Fair Play investigation

Considering no one has had points deducted for it before, pretty much shows that anyone who views opposite is pretty much picking the negative for a reason.

I’m sure a fair few choose that option in the hope we do just to be proved right, same as the ones who guaranteed relegation for the past two years and we’re saying it will definitely happen this season too.
I do think you have some fair points, especially about the doom mongerers.
There is some risk with the PL having to show some balls due to their power and potentially their existance being under threat. With the governments review. This is a risk that in my view, as they say in the financial world means 'past perfomace is not indicative of future results'.
My brain says we get away with whatever we have been accused of with a slap on the wrist. PL giving us a big points deduction IMHO gives the PL a world of pain. How do they then deal with clubs that have done way worse than us eg City and how do they justify non existent previous penalties eg the scum and others trying to breakaway from and destroy the PL?

I wish they would just announce the outcome though as they have had long enough to review the books. Just get on with it Damn it!!

It's not without precedence.
We were the club hardest hit with the European ban.
We had the first of only 2 players banned for diving even after the commission said that there was contact on Niasse.
We were the victims of a fixed champions league draw, the fact that Moyes said publicly that he believed that the draw was fixed and wasn't himself punished for saying that, as a punishment for Moyes would have led to an investigation.
Then the game itself V Viallareal was obviously fixed.
Then they changed the rules on champions league qualification.
Can't really blame people for thinking the worst.
I’ve heard, first hand from someone genuinely connected, about this. I can say no more.

Anyway that’s another story.

I don’t buy this, personally.

I don’t see what benefit there is to softening up Evertonians for a less severe punishment.

Fans of every other team would be disappointed in a weak punishment after 12 points has been trailed. So you basically end up with all 20 clubs disappointed in the outcome - even if we are somewhat relieved not to have had the full gut punch.

Not seen that appetite to be honest, only from fans of bitter teams who went down.

All I've seen is "what a joke considering Chelsea, Man City" etc, and people using the charge to beat FFP with.

Also interesting to see BBC referencing this again;

Last month, The Times reported the FFP charge was related to interest payable on loans to build the new stadium.
