I’d take the points deduction right now to be honest with you.
I reckon we’ll comfortably make 4 points on the bottom 3 over the course of 26 games. And that’s in the worst case scenario.
It’ll also make every single game a cup final. Imagine goodison being pissed off at every match. It’d be a nightmare for any team.
And it will be the end of the whole thing. We can look forward to the new stadium and move on.

Looks like industry insiders are getting the nod. Jordan sounded very convincing when he said we're getting points deducted and not a fine - although he did say he reckons it won't be 12 points deducted.
The season could spin off its axis with anything around 6 points. I fear for morale. And no matter what those clubs in the bottom 4 have done so far it;ll be an enormous boost for them to see us drop either in with them again or below them.
This will be the biggest test in the last 3 years or so of relegation haunted seasons and crisis that we've faced yet.

Four or five would't wreck our morale. Above that and we're battling relegation until May.
Your view is predicated on the idea the that one of the 3 teams we’ve made at least EIGHT points on in 12 games will turn it around.
And assuming they won’t be hit by injuries and we will.
Just to put what you are saying into context, to gain 4 points on luton over the rest of the season we’d need a run rate that is 0.15 points per game higher than them.
Our current run rate is 1.16 points per game with a slow start. Even if we we got 12 points deducted AND slipped into last years’ form which had a run rate of 0.94 points per game, Luton would need to go from 0.5 points per game to 0.79 points per game to match us.
And even then we’d have a superior goal difference.
It’s even worse for the other two.
Even with the points deduction, it would take a massive improvement in form from them, and a big drop off from us for them to even stand a chance.

We are the perfect club to be made an example of. Just about everyone out there will say it's no more than they deserve and the small flapping stories about the non existant punishment of 6 clubs trying to breakaway, man city's 1000 cases to be answered, Chelsea's chequered past will all be drowned out swiftly.
Rules will change and history will show we were the only club to be hammered in a ffp issue.
If we do get this sort of punishment I hope we come out loud and angry that we demand similar harsh penalties for if/when city and Chelsea are found guilty.
