Financial Fair Play investigation

the only rumours I've read were 3mill fine + 6pts suspended for 2 years
That did the rounds early last week, if a verdict had been reached at that point it would be known by now.

Same as any speculation now, whether it’s Simon Jordan or some Geordie on here, when there’s an actual decision it’s unlikely to come out in a piecemeal fashion, when it’s known it’ll be known.

A points deduction now will kill momentum we've built up. What an absolute joke. Just when I wasn't feeling so negative towards Everton. Guess we will keep on waiting to see what happens in the coming days.
Weirdly I think it would consolidate a squad which has already been improving more and more each game.

We have a lot of hearsay and whispers which leads to nothing but negativity.

No offence Dave. But you have been adamant and telling us all for months and months that it wouldn’t be a points deduction, yet now on the word of Simon Jordan, you think it will be, even though he himself was making sounds about how unlikely it would be following the hearing.

You also said this but are now making out that more than 6 points is going to ruin us.

Yet, somehow you sound surprised by this lol

Your view is predicated on the idea the that one of the 3 teams we’ve made at least EIGHT points on in 12 games will turn it around.

And assuming they won’t be hit by injuries and we will.

Just to put what you are saying into context, to gain 4 points on luton over the rest of the season we’d need a run rate that is 0.15 points per game higher than them.

Our current run rate is 1.16 points per game with a slow start. Even if we we got 12 points deducted AND slipped into last years’ form which had a run rate of 0.94 points per game, Luton would need to go from 0.5 points per game to 0.79 points per game to match us.

And even then we’d have a superior goal difference.

It’s even worse for the other two.

Even with the points deduction, it would take a massive improvement in form from them, and a big drop off from us for them to even stand a chance.
We won’t play as well as we have been if every missed chance or defensive mistake means we stay 19th, and a bagful of points behind Bournmouth etc. The momentum has built because the pressure is easing. Home crowd is less tense, players aren’t getting carjacked after matches etc, barely even a harsh word never mind a viscious spate of headlocks.

Goodison will be galvanised, yes. But going 2 nil down against United or whoever when 3 wins clear of the drop zone is very different than going 2 nil
down whilst already in the poo. Makes it a massive massive job for me. Still totally doable, and I think we would provided we don’t have to sell a key player in Jan. But recent form will be out the window and people will need to look for left over blue flares.

If it was a points deduction I think it would have been announced by now. The longer they leave it the less time/chance we have to make those points up and the PL won’t want to be seen to do that. Many might think the PL will want to do that just because it’s us but that won’t happen.

Also, if they deduct points off us what will they do to City? Relegation to the 8th tier? Close them down completely?

Maybe the PL are waiting for the ESL to be given the nod next month so when City join it the PL can’t touch them because they’re no longer in the PL and they can just relegate us and get Liverpool Council to retrospectively refuse planning permission for the new stadium?

The PL are also reported to be sniffing round the van der Meyde and Drenthe transfers…

If they go sniffing round them two, they'll be high AF in no time

But my point is even if we don’t play as well, even if we drop back to last season’s form, it would still require a big improvement from the bottom 3. And we’d still have a better goal difference.

And experience in surviving relegation that the others don’t.

the gulf is that big at the moment that it would take more than just a drop off in our form for the others to stand a chance.

AND that’s in the worst case scenario.

Can get 6/1 on us going down atm, worth getting on it in the worst scenario that we got 12pt deduction, could get a decent cash out straight away.
If its suspended could still pull your money back as we've a dicey next 10 games

Just wait for them to also kick out 777 takeover and be able to hammer us with administration points deduction as well

Cant we just raise an appeal and give them assurances that the 777 group that are buying Everton are not the same 777 group that the owner of 777 group buying us, also owns? That's how Newcastle got around it.

To be fair we should be reimbursed for those two transfers
