Financial Fair Play investigation

The whole thing smacks of a lack of transparency to me. I get there has to be a degree of confidentiality for due process. But the fact we dont know what we are charged with, a terms of reference of due process and a time line - is in this day and age of accountability a farce.

The reputational damage alone to the club in the media due to this process at a time we are trying to raise funds on the market to finish the stadium and attract a stadium sponsor is massively damaging and id half be looking at recourse if we had anyone with a bit of nous.

The PL is supposed to be showing they can regulate properly - this is far from how you do it. Im sure they are trying to keep a lid on it, but if this goes against us, given the process at hand - i hope we fire hell and brimstone at them, hit them were it hurts.

Absolutely spot on

Really well said mate

I think we need to brace ourselves now. I reckon the decision won't be that far away. Days.

Looks like industry insiders are getting the nod. Jordan sounded very convincing when he said we're getting points deducted and not a fine - although he did say he reckons it won't be 12 points deducted.

The season could spin off its axis with anything around 6 points. I fear for morale. And no matter what those clubs in the bottom 4 have done so far it;ll be an enormous boost for them to see us drop either in with them again or below them.

This will be the biggest test in the last 3 years or so of relegation haunted seasons and crisis that we've faced yet.
Davekducks?

People rationalising a points deduction along the lines of "We'd still stay up" are missing the point.

Any points deduction demonstrates that the Premier League is openly corrupt and the plaything of the clubs who tried to destroy it from within. If they can take points off us over - well, what, exactly - while Chelsea and City can bog them down in courts, Newcastle can openly lie about their owners, and Spurs, United, Arsenal, and Liverpool can agitate for a Super League that obliterates the pyramid, well, there is little point in Everton competing, let alone "improving." I mean, what would we be improving for? To be made an example of or patsies when we might actually develop a decent side?

This is a credibility issue for the Premier League.

Let's remember: "You can't punish the fans."

You can if they are Evertonians is not the answer of a credible organisation.

Lads i promise im not on a wind up. Check my other posts on here i have a genuine affinity for Everton, if someone had an inkling about the welfare of my club id like to think they'd share it, my sister is close friends with an exec in the PL, who works for Richard Masters, the ten point deduction has been passed, it was meant to be announced but they are dithering about the wording. I understand your reaction to me most fans are on troll for a reaction, im not i promise.
That sounds like something that someone would say if they were on a wind up.

Completely agree and the problem now is that either way it goes it’s going to look to some, rightly or wrongly, as a back room stitch up.

If we are punished very harshly Everton fans will feel that an “independent”(picked by one side) has wanted to hang us out to dry for political purposes. If it’s a slap on the wrist then given what they’ve been told about possible point reductions likewise fans of other relegation threatened clubs will think it’s been a PR exercise never intended to do anything too serious.

Much like VAR people want to see the process played out in front of them rather than have massive decisions made by people behind closed doors with little or no transparency. No outcome will ever please everyone but you want to at least trust the process. Here we barely even know what the process is.

Can get 6/1 on us going down atm, worth getting on it in the worst scenario that we got 12pt deduction, could get a decent cash out straight away.
If its suspended could still pull your money back as we've a dicey next 10 games
I kept hearing that we will appeal Any punishment, well if it’s a bad one like 9/12 points, think they will for 6 as well, so can’t see the points being added this season

Liverpool hacked Manchester city's scouting data.. ended up paying just a million and the FA dropped the case.

We’re always the first, the niasse deceiving the official only him and lanzine punished.

Even a few weeks ago, my memory might be little off here, but when every was gong mental about the time added, think we were the next game, may have been Luton and I think it was 4 minutes even with loads of subs and time wasting , now it back to 8plus every game, we’ve defended 2 away ways since, 8 mins Saturday and I think West Ham was 7?

The Allan sending off, I said at the time you will not see another player sent off for that type of trying to stop counter attack challenge for years, and I can’t remember one before him.

Is it 5 apologies from VAR? V spurs 3 years ago dele hand up at a corner and not given, has there been a more blatant hand ball, in terms of the rules, not given since var was introduced.

So I would not be surprised of a points deduction and will we be only one, yet I reckon a number of teams will be guilty over the next few years

There is absolutely no reason for this to be dragged out as long as it has been. It’s completely unacceptable.
Hugely frustrating but depends if the delay is genuinely down to the amount of deliberation going on.

If they are genuinely still deliberating over it it’s probably not bad news for us- if it was open and shut, caught red handed, throw the book at them a decision would’ve surely been handed out quicker than this. It’s not “beyond reasonable doubt” like a criminal case but certainly any element of doubt is better for us.

At the same time, if a decision has been reached but announcement a being delayed for political reasons that is completely unacceptable.
