Financial Fair Play investigation

The PL has a case to answer too and that'll come out in this Commission.

I’m not sure it does, at least where Everton are concerned. We were within limits because of the Covid excuse this time last year. Our new accounts set to be published next week take us over the limit, so we’ve been referred. The journalists making out that this is the PL belatedly dealing with last year’s complaint from Burnley and Leeds are just mistaken.

Are they? I know they’ve spent a few bob, but they’ve sold higher than we have which probably off sets their expenditure to a greater degree than ours and have had European football more recently than us. Their recent accounts show a loss of £92m vs £31m the year before and £60m the year before (£183m) that’s before the P&S calculation but their losses are a lot less than ours so they are on the border but certinaly not worse

All the big sales are gone off this cycle and they’ve had players on silly money. Why they gave the keeper away to Nice in the summer

Big trouble before long

How much have Leicester lost over a rolling 3 year period?

Athletic have done 2/3 deep dives on their finances now:

We have breached FFP for the 2nd time. We always were. By the rules they have to refer us regardless of cooperation.

But IMO due the cooperation we should just get slapped with a fine.

It's not like we've hid money and lied about revenue ala City

£190m loss, over the same period ours was £372m. They could theoretically claim £90m due to covid and be absolutely fine. Still don’t know how we got away with blagging £170m covid losses.

They’ve zero sellable assets and like us with BMD, have tried to write a lot off on their training ground redevelopment

Trouble

On Leicester…..
At least they’ve had success off it and enjoyed success… we’ve actually got flipping worse…!
How did we end up with the world's most unsuccessful philanthropist?

If that's true it highlights how flimsy the PL's argument against Everton will be to that commission.

We need to keep our nerve, win some games and this thing will be dealt with favourably IMO.
The most valid points are already made.

That the club worked with & satisfied the Premier lge for 2 yrs.
And moreso even telling the rest of the Clubs they were satisfied and Everton were free to sign players in the transfer window.
This is a most crazy situation
