Financial Fair Play investigation

Just looked into this ‘independent regulator’ nonsense. That’s the government trying to well step over the mark imo. They shouldn’t have anything like the power they want to have over football!

It won’t work either. The government having to approve club’s business models, lol. What are you going to do if they don’t approve? Kick the club out? Repossess the club and sell it to someone else at auction? Are they going to apply the same rules to each club?

It won’t work, and it would ruin football and the PL, the exact opposite of what they claim to be doing.

We were alright last year when Burnley and Leeds were acting up, we’ve a better manager this year to - so far he’s and this doesn’t get enough air play - he’s kept the whole board toxicity out of the dressing room - think and confident he has this.
If he steers through this he deserves to have the new stadium named after him.

It'd be understandable if the focus went out the window.

Hopefully behind the scenes there's been a nod and a wink and assurances made that this is a pantomime...which is what it seems like to me.

The PL literally approved the Newcastle take over to ensure business ties with Saudi Arabia were maintained.

We've been skating on this ice. Our COVID figures are massively overinflated and we got away with it, hence why we went to the headmasters office at the PL.

We've made progress and as the Esk estimates we made a £50mill loss last season which compared to the £120mill loss the season before, it's pretty good going. However, to get out of any FFP breaches we would've had to have made a profit, and a big one (like an Anthony Gordon one for eg) to keep them at bay.

But when our wage to revenue is still in the high 90% bracket... we're always gonna be pumped.
Is it seriously still 90%?! It must’ve been ludicrous when we had Allan, James, Bernard, Gylfi and Digne on the books. All were among our top earners and I highly doubt any of the lads we’ve brought in are on anything near those fees.

The whole spin from the media during the super league when the breakaway clubs should have had bigger punishments was ‘why should the fans suffer?’, well why should Everton fans suffer for the boards failings?

What was the paltry amount those clubs were fined for nearly ruining the Premier League?
Remember what happened to the scab clubs who'd signed up to that ESL. A £22m fine paid between the 6 of them.

People need to remember that.

Or its because they're up in front of the select committee this week trying to hold off a compulsory independent regulator.
They want to be seen as doing something, taking action, and us and city have flown closest to the sun recently

The only thing I trust Moshiri on is the fact he’s a billionaire accountant and won’t have got this particular area of the club wrong

Essentially this.
I think clubs will look at us quite favourably in this.
Well they'd have to accept that the PL were at least responsible for giving Everton the impression all was well. That simply has to be a mitigating factor in whatever punishment comes EFC's way.

The crucial thing is that we get another 11-12 points and stay in this PL. That puts the ball in the court of the PL and this commission.

Its looking more and more like that, the media narrative is interesting, the easy headline is our breach - but the emerging headlines are all about the regulation power play and the incredulous clubs citing their inconsistency in communication and change of behaviour, this in bad for brand PL and becoming very transparent, our defence is mounting.

Imagine the club coming out and accusing the PL of seen to be acting to minimise a Government intervention, Wouldn't even have to, I suspect a quite conversation, with that dropped in will see us right, particularly when you consider their role in oversight.

PL up to their neck in this as much as we are.
