Flat feet

I should have mentioned that I was staying in Tennessee (Bristol) where, if you didn't own a car, you didn't get go anywhere, so the lack of exercise is understandable. My American daughter-in-law is a nurse practitioner and I suppose her high wage reflects the cost of medical care over there.

What age bracket are you and how do you feel about having to just put up with it for however long you might have to? To us Brits it seems shocking that those suffering in other countries have to pay for medical care we need it. It's not free because we pay a National Insurance - we just don't get billed after being discharged from a NHS hospital. At my age more and more friends and relations are in need of various care: two broken hips and another three hip replacements already in 2024!
I'm 42, I'm in private health so haven't had anything much to do with the public hospitals here in Australia. I just looked up if our medicare system covers orthodics and it seems like only for very severe or diabetic cases.

I've got fallen arches (flat feet) and for as long as I can remember I've been wearing UK size 12 trainers even though the wide shoes I bought are size 10½. It means I'm less likely to blow over in a gale but it also means I have to wear two pairs of socks to stop my feet from sliding forward and back inside.

I was going to add a lot more but thought I'd ask who else suffers the same and what measures you've taken?
This might help

I thought I'd share the ongoing Fitville fiasco. I love the shoes but they keep getting my orders wrong due to the US/UK size diffence confusion. I asked for a UK size 11 to be delivered to Bristol Tennessee because I was going there. They sent US size 11, which is UK 10. I contacted them and asked for the right size to be sent to my UK address. They arrived yesterday - size 13 US/12 UK! They always say there's no need to return the wrong ones so I bought the pair delivered to Bristol back home and sold them on ebay for £5 less than I paid for them. So far a result. Now they're sending me another pair and once again say there's no need to return them. If it's their mistake they are very generous. More confusion over the blue trainers means they are sending me two correct pairs of a different trainer, meaning another ebay sale!

In future I'll only order from their UK website

This is called looking a gift horse in the mouth. Free merch being sold on and a seeming conveyor belt of the stuff. You're into Everton alright.

Not really. I've already assured I'm getting three pairs for less than the price of one. They take about 10-14 days to arrive from China and I can't be bothered with the hassle. All I want is three different pairs of comfortable trainers, blue, brown and black and that's what I'll have.

Eventually!
