Floors - engineered wood

We've got Karndean in the kitchen and bathroom.

Looks great. There's loads of styles to choose from. It's quite pricey and also needs to be fitted well (also pricey). Very easy to clean. Also, doesn't feel too cold in winter.

Nothing beats well maintained proper wooden floorboards though.
Like most things, it's down to personal preference.

Mrs. Tree and I move into our current home nearly two years ago - there's karndean in two reception rooms and over time we've both grown to dislike it enough that it's been earmarked for removal when we do the renovation next summer. When all is said and done, it's just VERY expensive vinyl desperately trying to look like wood - but it has none of the charm of wood because it doesn't feel right, doesn't smell right and doesn't look right... because there's no wood in it whatsoever. I will agree that it doesn't feel cold, but we live in the southeast so it's never cold down here anyway.

Our karndean is going and will be replaced by engineered wood.

No idea what your issue is here pal. I'm just expressing my personal opinion regarding a type of vinyl flooring product and, well frankly I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Maybe you could give it another go tomorrow?
