That Roma lazio derby is vicious, like I’ve seen how emotional Italians get, I was saying there I was in Sardinia in 04, Italy got knocked out of the euros and I saw a lad punching the [Poor language removed] out of one of those steel chairs and tables you see outside the cafes, he was crying , I was afraid he was gonna have a heart attack he was that red, and what was worse, they felt Denmark and Sweden had fixed the game, and our resort was full of swedes and Danes, made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere all round ??

I was amazed how friendly both sets of fans were to me (Lazio) and my family (Verona and Juve) once they realised we were Irish.

One Lazio fan asked for a loan of my Dubs jersey to take a photo of his young lad after the game.

As I am sure you know most in the city of Rome are Roma while those in the region are Lazio. Never been to a derby but would love it some day

Fast forward 2 years and Italy win the World Cup ? Italians never do half measures do they

Who else misses it ? And wishes channel 4 would show Italian football again like the good old days?!?!

Also what was your favourite moments in the show, who was your team and favourite players in a glorious period for Italian football and when the worlds best players showed their skills in serie a?
Favourite moment.
The presenter drinking his cappuccino and rolling off the headlines in English from the Italian back pages.

Same, would love to witness it, but I’d say it’s mental, closest I got was watching a Rome derby in a pub in Dublin which was rammed with both fans and they were hurling abuse at each other ??? lots of Italian cuss words

We were in Rome when they won the WC. The flipping noise after the semi and the final was incredible. Vespas etc beeping around the city all night. No sleep either night!!

We had an early flight after the final and we certainly had more baggage than we should. Back then you had to check in at a desk not internet.

When I got to the attendant I said Forza Italia!!! He laughed and said Grazie - never checked our bags :)

It’s so special being in a place when they win it, we were on a lads holiday in Spain in 2008 when they won, Christ, the whole night exact same thing, car horns beeping, people jumping in fountains, we got free beers all night, barman was like “Spain may never win a tournament again, drinks on the house!!” Lol if he has a crystal ball

I have great memories of watching the live game on a Sunday afternoon, and of course the highlights show. It did move to Bravo, but when Football Italia left Channel Four it just wasn't the same for some reason.

Sampdoria used to be my favourite Italian team because i liked the shirt, but my interest in Italian football trailed off sometime around the mid noughties.

Still though i have great memories of that program, and simpler days when there was no stress no worries and no covid either.:)

It was class, they did a really good Saturday morning show. Seeing James Richardson sitting in an Italian square with a big fancy coffee and ice cream made me really want to go to Italy.
Same here, and him going through the back page newspaper headlines while sipping his latte.:)

OK I will probably be slated but I have been to Lazio and Verona home games, the latter with my family. We were warmly welcomed, so I watch out for their results.

I went to Lazio while on a choir trip in Rome. I was alone. I didn't realise I should have bought my ticket about a mile back. I was wearing my sky blue Dublin jersey - when I got to the turnstiles I asked Quanto e? They explained I should have a ticket. I replied "Sono Irlandese" They opened they gate and waved me through with smiles

I know they both have a mad right wing element, but they are not unique. Roma now have a mix of far left and right fans - mad

We also went to Juve against Rovers in the CL qualifiers - played in Modena as Juve's stadium under construction.

We were openly wearing our Rovers colours amongst the Juve fans. When Del Piero scored a screamer I stood and applauded. Again I was greeted with warmth and handshakes - "Multo respetto".

So, yes it would be nice to see Serie A on regularly on terrestrial TV
Lazio aren't perfect but some of those Roma fans are absolute animals imo, what they did to poor Sean Cox was appaling.
