Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

FYLDE FIGHT BACK

Fylde trailed the game 2-0 before pulling a goal back in the 64th minute. Ferguson opted to go all out attack to rescue a point against Bromley in what the pundits thought would have been a routine win for Fylde.

Ebbsfleet were the dominant side here and played Fylde off the park. Fylde were fortunate to rescue a point here and the fans were already leaving the stadium at 2-1 down. It was not what the fans have been used to and Ebbsleet will be disappointed not to take the points on a day Fylde were in as friendly term to put it, 'all over the place'.

Duncan Ferguson: We must improve, there's no question about it. We have ambitions here to be pushing for play-offs but after that last performance I'm not so sure. It's times like this we need to work harder and not lose our focus. We rescued a point and I am happy about that but the performance overall was not good. We have to be better.

AFC FYLDE TAKE 4 POINTS FROM THEIR LAST TWO GAMES AND ADVANCE INTO THE FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND

AFC FYLDE 2-0 HARTLEPOOL UNITED
After losing to Hartlepool in the league recently, Fylde got their revenge in the FA Trophy with a comfortable 2-0 win. Centre forward Barry Corr got a rare start and managed to score an instinctive centre forward's goal with a hit into the bottom corner. James Hardy doubled the lead in the second half. Hartlepool gave a good account of themselves but were unlucky in front of goal.

HARROGATE 1-1 AFC FYLDE
Harrogate took the lead in the fourth minute from the penalty spot but an equaliser on the stroke of half time by man of the match Luke Burke, who is having an outstanding season at right back put Fylde back into the game. Fylde did not do enough to get the victory and were disappointed to draw with Harrogate who sat 22nd in the table.

AFC FYLDE 2-1 BARROW
The scoreline flatters a disappointing performance from Fylde. James Hardy and Danny Rowe put The Coasters 2-0 up but Jack Diamond pulled one back in the 60th minute to put a few nerves in the Fylde side. It should've been a much more comfortable win for Fylde but they were disappointing and Ferguson let them know they need to be performing much better, especially at home to a side who have lost their last 9 league games.

Not much change in terms of league position but AFC Fylde have two games in hand over the teams around them and if they want to have a chance of the play-offs, they need to win both of them.

In other news, Central Defender Danny Kane who is on loan from Cork City will be returning back to Cork after his loan contract with Fylde comes to an end in mid-January. An offer was made to retain the player until the end of the season but Cork City felt Kane will make an impact at Cork. Ferguson was disappointed to be losing Danny Kane and needed to act quickly for a replacement. A call was made to Darren Moore at West Bromich Albion in relation to Central Defender Nathan Ferguson, an 18 year old U23 player about a loan deal until the end of the season.

Nathan Ferguson put in a competent performance in the 2-1 victory over Barrow.
He's the best centre back currently at the club and has been one of the main reasons we've kept so many clean sheets. I can't fault Cork for wanting him back and unless I sell some of our better players, there's no transfer budget to be able to bring him in. At the moment it seems loans are our better option.
No way Kane is staying here lads, only reason he was out on loan is because he didn't get on with Caulfield. Word on the street here is that some L1 clubs are sniffing around him on a free.
(This is what happens when threads on here spill over into real life)

Left Winger Joe Cardle on the move?

It is rumoured Plymouth Argyle are interested in signing left winger Joe Cardle and the player is tempted by a move to league one. According to sources he is keen to play at a higher level but manager Duncan Ferguson is reluctant to let him go. Joe Cardle has been one of Fylde's impressive performers this season.
