Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

JOHN JONES TRANSFER CONFIRMED
View attachment 146675

With just one day to go in the transfer window, John Jones has signed for Millwall for a record fee of £2.2M. Sources close to the club believe there is a massive rift between Kevin Ward and Duncan Ferguson over the sale of one of the clubs best players. More to follow.
Ward out!

DUNCAN FERGUSON TO RESIGN?

Sky Sports have been following the developments of the situation at Fylde over the sale of John Jones earlier today and Duncan Ferguson has had showdown talks with the club director Richard Allinson. Duncan approached the board in a desperate need to increase funds to be able to sign a replacement but the conversation did not go well for Ferguson.

TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSES

The Summer transfer window has closed and Fylde have been unable to secure a deal for a replacement for John Jones leaving only Corbi Jarvis the only player to play that position. The real issue is Fylde do not have a permanent player in that position with negotiations breaking down and the left back position being a hard one to fill. Duncan Ferguson has not yet come out of Mill Farm but we are hearing rumours that the manager is on his way out of the club.

Won't blame him if he did. Absolute @#$%house move from Ward.

Just two days ago the transfer window closed with John Jones being sold behind the managers back and not for the first time this has happened under Kevin Ward's ownership. Duncan Ferguson takes control of this match and before the game he said he would never leave the club just days before a fixture leaving the clarity over his future still clouded. Corbi Jarvis came in at left back and had big shoes to fill. The harmony in the squad will be affected by recent events and the fans have addressed their feelings with banners draped in the away end asking for the resignation of the Chairman. Ten minutes in, Bobby Carroll played it to Roberts and he struck from 20 yards to beat Dube to make it 1-0 to Birmingham. Fylde were not deterred by the goal and Bytheway came forward down the right, he played it to Hunt in the centre and he struck from outside the box and it was just over the bar. Jarvis got the ball forward and Carey took it on the left, he turned and played it across to Bytheway who bombed towards goal and struck just outside the box towards the bottom corner and the keeper tipped it behind. Fylde made a double substitution on 59 minutes, Henderson and Carey were replaced by Brookes and Redshaw. Jonathan Dixon took the free-kick for Birmingham and went for goal from 20 yards out and it nestled into the bottom corner making it 2-0 to Birmingham. The travelling supporters were ferocious in their support of Ferguson and aimed their anger towards the Board. Corbi Jarvis played a nice ball out wide to the right for Reece James and he crossed towards the far post, Chris Brookes won the header and beat Simmonds to pull one back for Fylde! Brookes with a goal on his Fylde debut! Jarvis threw the ball to Hunt on the left flank and he crossed towards the far post finding Bytheway to volley in the equaliser! 2-2! 13 minutes to go! Two minutes later Cunningham found Bryan Johnson who beat Jarvis and made it 3-2 to Birmingham. It's all over at St. Andrews and it's a hard fought defeat for Fylde. Birmingham done well to get the win and were more clinical in front of goal.

END OF AN ERA

After recent events at the club, it was only a matter of time before Duncan Ferguson walked away. His relationship with Kevin Ward broke down when he sold Neil Foster and Mick Wisdom but to leave the manager without his best player with one day to find a replacement was a dirty tactic by the club owner. Little money was given to Ferguson to try to bring someone in at the last minute and this left the manager seething. His job was made impossible for him to continue and he had to walk away with his dignity still in tact.
