The first game in charge for new boss Duncan Ferguson but also a new manager in the Brentford dugout as he aims to take his side from bottom of the table and towards safety. Ferguson has only had one full day to get to know his squad and has picked a strong side ahead of the visit to Brentford. Ferguson believes he can get this team singing again and he will not to take to any slacking from his players. It was all Brentford in the opening 15 minutes and Norwich looked sluggish, Batth made some good saves to keep Norwich in the game early on. The first half came to an end with Batth the only player for Norwich playing well. Ferguson sent the team out for the second half taking off Mgaga at left back and replacing him with Wilkins. Angel Gomes came off for Ian Brown on the left wing. It was a quiet second half, Ron Bull had a great chance to win it for Brentford with 8 minutes to go but shot wide. Kendall took the corner for Norwich on 83 minutes aiming for Johnston at the far post, he lost the header and it came to Ian Richardson who struck low and found the bottom right corner to give Ferguson his first goal and a potential Norwich win! Brentford came forward but Batth was stopping everything. The keeper is deservedly man of the match. It's a smash and grab victory for Norwich despite not playing great but they get the three points.

DF: There is a lot of work to be done. It's going to take time to get it right. The players just don't have that desire yet but we will work on that, we have a week until we play Oldham at Carrow Road next week and the work starts now.
