PRE-MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE
Duncan, Welcome to Zaragoza, how are you finding the culture?
DF: Thank you, the people are friendly, it's a beautiful city with so much to take in. Myself and my family are really settling in well.
It's your first week in your new job, how has the preparation been?
DF: I've had chance to evaluate the players and get to know them a little bit, it will take time to get to know them fully and they are also learning a lot about myself. The fitness levels and intensity has been our focus this week as well as introducing how I would like them to play.
Are there any injuries or concerns ahead of the match?
DF: We are without Eugenio Alvarez, he is likely to return to training next week. Aside from that, there are no further concerns. Everyone else has trained this week and are in contention for a place on Sunday.
You say you are bringing your own style of football to Spain. What can we expect to see?
DF: I like to play attacking football and I like my players to keep the ball moving, the tempo is quick and I also expect them to defend as a unit as well as attacking as one.
Have any players caught your eye?
A few, I've picked up on some talented things this week in training. Zaragoza are a very talented football team. I'm looking forward to seeing how we can transition into our first match this weekend and it's a clean slate for everyone to show me what they've got. That also goes for the reserves and youth team. There are some talented kids here and I would like them to give me a footballing headache.
Zaragoza have performed very well this season. With four games to go, are you confident of getting a play-off place?
DF: It's in our hands isn't it? We've just got to get the job done. The team have done exceptionally well this season and we now have to see it through. It's a hard time to join a new club when there is so much at stake.
What are your plans for the club?
DF: To have them playing well consistently, to develop the players and to get them playing in the top division after a 20 odd year absence. The chairman outlined the project to me and I have fully bought into it.
Last question, how are you finding the language?
DF: Tough! I've picked up some phrases and I'm learning it more, it's difficult to understand my accent now for most people, I've had a few funny looks let me tell you!
